Max and family is super nice, the rooms are clean and you can order food at the hotel. Max is very keen on helping you and will fix guides and transport and he made for a great host.
The hotel is in a very uncomfortable area - there is an open sewer/drain channel right outside the hotel and you can smell it.
The area around the hotel is very dirty, slummish and feels unsafe walking around in. We booked with kids but after a quick walk around, were not okay with bringing the kids outside the hotel, no matter how safe the host told us the area was.

I found this a really nice place to stay. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, with some stylish touches of decor that made it feel a little more special than I had expected, and a private bathroom that was nicer than the norm. The guest house has other spaces to hang out in, including a plant filled veranda (though this gets hot during the day!). Max is extremely helpful and informative -- a really nice host with a good sense of what different people need. The guest house is in a good location; they provide all the information to make your Agra stay easy and fun, and they offer food in case you're too tired to go out. Fully recommend!
