Arnarstapi Cottages

Very quiet at night and beds were comfortable.

Could have used some cutlery and a few plates in the cottage. Two pillow for each person would have been nice.

Amazing location with a view of the ocean, sure it was across the road, but still a great view. Two options for dinner very close by. The cottage itself was lovely, with a spacious bathroom, but there was no body wash. We were lucky to see 3 arctic fox pups playing around one of the buildings in front of us, which made up for the unfortunate wet weather that prevented us from seeing the northern lights.

Lack of body wash, there was an empty holder and the coffee was not our favourite.

Nice rooms. Comfortable and cozy.

We were warned to not take long showers for hot water and my husband’s shower turned cold in a few minutes and I didn’t get one at all. You have to walk to your cottage down a gravel path and ours was almost on the end and it was a long haul. Our sliding glass door had a very large crack across it and the sink in the bath was also cracked. I alerted the manager who was already aware but for the cost we didn’t expect that. Quick reply from manager. Neat experience but probably wouldn’t pay that much again for what it was.

Great location.

Many things in poor repair: blinds not working, noisy fridge, small boiler with limited hot water. Also one of our cottages had a view to a parking lot. And you cannot park close to the other, hence spend a lot of lugging your gear back and forth. The cottages overall are made very cheap and spartan, evidently calculating on the limited choice available and tallying with the Icelandic style of maximizing profit from tourism with questionable quality.
