Gecko house is a life style. I was lost in the way but that is absolutely my own fault, I rented a motorbike and wanted to reach the place on my own using google maps so my fate was confirmed. But when I contacted them on booking dot com they instantly replied and guided me and to be very honest I was trying to be adventurous with the map. So since I was near the hostel I reached in two minutes after the guidance. I loved those cats around the setting area.
There is nothing to dislike in this place. For me it was near the beach, the food, the market, and most importantly nearest to the Nature.

Cool vibe, relaxed and chill for most of the time, close to everything you need
Was a bit dated but I suppose that's what your paying for, bed was super creaky, didn't realise there were cats everywhere, made it hard to eat food

The cats! So cute. The location is very ideal- close to main beach, and many restaurants.
The room wasn't as advertised through booking.com. I was informed upon arrival that the bungalows were full and that there are two types of air con rooms, and that you'd have to request for the bungalow (I dont understand how you would know this in advance). The website should include a statement to clarify. Also the room is extremely basic- it meets hostel standards (only 1 bar small soap). Very very loud at night- people yelling outside room, Mosque next door with 5:30AM prayer. I think its a good option if you are on a tight budget or want a hostel experience.
