Buffalo Safari Lodge

I've been on safari at Queen Elizabeth several times, and BSL is by FAR the best place I've stayed. AMAZING LODGE !!! AWESOME STAFF !!!! If you want to experience African hospitality, come here.

The location is fantastic, not directly in the park which gives flexibility if you want to explore other parts, but close enough that you are in the park in under 15 min. The setup and ambience are fantastic, the staff very welcoming, attentive and friendly; special shoutout to Godard and Elizabeth; the food is very good and they have clearly worked on any older feedback ,all in all a fantastic safari lodge.

The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and supportive, provided solutions for most of our questions. Water Buffaloes and Elephants passing by our cottages in the night was extremely pleasant and a unique experience. A water hole is lcated in front of the lodge with herds of elephants and water buffaloes approaching to take a sip: perfect sight!

Noise I: The pool, that some of you might now well enjoy has been constructed during our stay: from 8am to 7pm we heard constant construction noise. Issue could not be completely solved by the management, so that we had to sort it out with the workers. Noise II: During our stay the power was cut off for more than 2 days in a row, which lead to the generator to run for this time. The generator is located between the 3 cottages on the right side of the premises and hardly isolated for noise. Noise III: The lodge is located ca. 500m from the main road. The main road has massive speed bumps, which create loads of noise from empty trucks trying to crawl over them. This is especially challenging in the night. Noise of the generator helped ;-) Noise IV, somehow funny: some guests brought their portable boom box to play their favorite Ugandan music to their pleasure. Since it was not to our pleasure, we asked them to tune it down. They refused and made almost racist comments towards us; we did not take them seriously, since the guests were drunk. We took over the boom box via bluetooth and muted it.
