Breakfast was excellent
We arrived on a Monday early evening but dinner wasn't available, we were offered sandwich or omlette so decided to find a restaurant in Hawick - which was difficult as most of them were closed however we did find an Indian Restaurant that was open.

Fairly secluded which we liked.
Nice grounds, it's a shame the weather was rough, (storms Austen and Boelo were in full swing during our travel to the hotel).
The large bed was clean, warm & comfy.
We would stay there again.
We ordered take aways for our evening meal & Sue supplied plates & cutlery for us which was a nice touch.
The room was a little cool for our liking. I suppose we could have mentioned that but it was bearable. The heated towel rail was on in the bathroom & we were warm when having a shower etc.
I think the stormy weather played a big part in the temperature.

Cleanliness, tasteful decoration, parking
Staff gave impression that they didn’t really want to be there. Not particularly friendly and welcoming.
Being charged extra for a king sized room when this is what we paid for on Booking.com
Bar meal very ordinary and not well presented.
