About this apartment rental
Hurray...after three years, construction on the sea wall is complete with new landscaping, new steps to the ocean and beach. It looks beautiful. Also, because of COVID-19 we have updated our cleaning process to include complete sanitation of the condo including all touchable surfaces. This is in compliance with the new CDC regulations.

Our condo is located away from crowds and high rise hotels in a unique private area of peace and tranquility. They also have extremely quiet interiors due to the thick concrete block construction that includes the extended block walls on the lanai for your added privacy.
What a difference it makes to stay right on the oceanfront! The surf gently splashing on the seawall, ocean breezes from the trade winds, captivated by the deep blue sea and the islands of Molokai and Lanai. Rainbows abound. Front row seat to every sunset…different and exciting.
Don't forget to look down from the lanai and watch for the sea turtles poking their cute heads above the water as they feed against the sea wall inside the reef. When in season whale watching between December and April is really exciting as you watch whales coming through the channel from the privacy of your own top floor balcony.

We love this location and have stayed in the area before, but not in this particular group (Kahana Reef). The unit was great! Only feedback is that it would be nice to have a few more drinking glasses so we weren’t washing as often and to have some plastic cup options. In addition, the outside light that shines into the bedroom at night kept the room pretty light which made sleeping a bit more difficult, so darker curtains would help. Since there is no AC, the fans could be more substantial as well. Overall, it’s a great deal!! The ocean view is wonderful!!

We had an amazing 8 day stay and will for sure stay here again. We had breakfast and dinners on the patio overlooking the ocean, when we ate in. All the pans and cooking utensils I needed was available plus more. Previous renters left good spices & coffee which was nice. There was a nice breeze in the bed room at night with the window open. There was cleaning supplies to use through the week with a vacuum and broom for the sand. We was nicely surprised how comfortable the king size bed was. What I thought could definitely use improvement is the property management, whom your supposed to call with questions. We had 3 occurrences and could not reach anyone. Every time we had to call the owner, he was amazing & got things taken care of quickly with no frustration. He was on it and apologetic. Thanks & we'll be back.

Great owner, great people staying in other, no central air but you don't need it. If you leave the sliding glass door open use the screen otherwise you end up with birds inside. beautiful clean condo. Owner very responsive. Great location.

We were a little disappointed when we got the details about where we were going to stay, a couple of days prior to our arrival.
The main photo on VRBO actually showed the view from the balcony but had nothing to do with the condo itself. The condo has a relatively narrow layout (all condos there are as wide as the balcony) and it is located on the top floor of a four story building. We found it quite a bit misleading that the cover photo showed a building which has nothing to do with the actual place itself. A foot note which you can see when you scroll through all photos actually mentions what the photo really shows but who reads all that? I have to admit that we ended up enjoying our time there and the view really is great! You can sit on the balcony and enjoy beautiful sunsets and listen to the surf just a few feet away. Please do not get me wrong: I do not want to discourage people from booking this place - just be aware that you are not going to stay in one of those buildings shown in the picture.
For all guests who like Chinese food, we can definitely recommend the restaurant just across the street called "China Boat".
So, after all, it is not a bad place at all - just a little different from what we had expected.
