The location was great - but then the island is so small it would be difficult to have a bad one! The street was off the beaten path and quiet (except for scooters- unavoidable). The apartment was well set-up, very nicely decorated, and comfortable. A lot of care has been put into designing the apartment, and it was perfect for our family of 3 (including teenager)
Getting in was tricky - the app they sent with all the information didn't work, and the instructions to find the keys were incomplete. Responses to questions were fast, but not very much info was provided (all in the app I guess?). More pillows and linens would have been appreciated - there was no cover on the thin duvets and only 1 thin pillow each. More hooks or storage in the bathrooms would be helpful.

A lovely apartment: bright, clean, very comfy bed, excellent kitchen area. During the heatwave it provided a very comfy space to retreat to. The aircon worked well and was almost silent! The apartment is in a great location for making the most of Ortigia. The apartment staff was easily contactable and very responsive through Whatsapp.
Within a secure courtyard, the apartment is accessed via a lockable door (good) or a lift which had some technical problems (such as letting us into the wrong apartment!). Understandably, there's quite a bit of conversion work going on in Ortigia to convert the beautiful buildings into apartments, etc: this included within our courtyard and our private balcony on the back was shrouded in hessian. No great drama, but we should have been warned.

Fantastic location in the centre of Ortigia, you are steps away from one of the coolest cocktail bars (BOATS) in town. Everything you could possibly need is really close by - supermarkets, gelatos, cafes, restaurants, bars. The apartment was really well equipped with everything (and more) than you could ever think of. I really loved that they provided hand washing detergent to wash your clothes in a bucket, and a drying rack to hang them out on. The wifi is great, as our phones had no reception within the building. The tool used to provide access to the courtyard and apartment was excellent and made checking in really smooth and easy. The lock box is a bit tricky to open, but just needs a little jiggling. The host was really quick at responding to messages and answering any questions. We had a great stay.
Just something to note that there is a large dog who lives on the property. He's very gentle and sweet, but he really took a shine to me. My husband had to physically pull the dog off me when he started enthusiastically humping my leg. I was left with scratches and bruises and each time we left the apartment the dog tried to repeatedly jump up on me. He's a big dog, weighing around 70kgs, so not light. Thankfully I'm ok with dogs, and he is the sweetest, but it made going in and out of the apartment a bit of a hassle as he really really really liked me :).

Our stay at Dione Apartments exceeded our expectations. The location was as we had planned and expected – very near the north end and “entrance” into Ortigia from mainland Siracusa. All of the primary tourist sites in Ortigia were no more than a 10-15 minute walk away and the bus/train station on the mainland was 20 minutes away. Like much of Ortigia, the apartment building is in a narrow pedestrian-only “alley” and from the outside the area does not look very inviting. But once you enter the building, then walk up the steps to the first floor and enter the apartment you are treated to a grand surprise of entering a totally different world from out in the alley. The apartment has been fully modernized with all of its style and appliances and features while also maintaining a bit of an authentic flavor of Ortigia with some of its decorations. There is one bedroom on the main floor with a very large bathroom on the other side of the main floor, and a second bedroom upstairs in a loft with its smaller bathroom right next to it. The bedrooms were a good size – not small and not large – just right. The living room/dining room/kitchen area was very spacious and very comfortable. Air conditioning worked just fine as did the large television, equipped with Netflix and Amazon Prime. The kitchen had all of the amenities one would want, but we did not use them, other than the refrigerator and microwave. This is the kind of apartment you would want to have to spend a whole week, not just four nights like we did. Germana and her team were very communicative and friendly. The pictures and description on the site here are quite good but don’t quite do it justice – it is even nicer and more comfortable than we expected. We would gladly come back to this apartment if we were to return to Ortigia someday.

The apartment is very nice, the kitchen is well equipped and it was nice to be able to make your own breakfast. The elevator goes straight from the street to the apartment, so it is easy to bring in the luggage. Our host was very helpful. We experienced that there was no water because of some work in the area. As this seem to last for a longer period our host came and moved us to an even better apartment. As an extra bonus, the dog from the eighbors downstairs came to to say hello. (It can easily be avoided, but it was welcome as we missed our own dog)

Location was absolutely amazing.In the heart of Ortiga close to the ancient ruins, very close to the beach and many bar around, kitchen was fully with equipments which is great.
Well I was expecting to meet my host and asked so questions but check in and check out was online.No maps,no information inside the room.No reception at all. Toilet was to small for me and the front gate was horrible I've stucked there for a few times and waited for some strangers to help me go out - please change the lock

the location is fantastic and we had no trouble finding it. it’s about a 5 minute walk from the parking area and really close to historical sights as well as lots of restaurants and bars. loved having some extra space compared to hotel rooms in Italy. we also loved having a freezer as well as a fridge and we used the toasted sandwich maker daily for our breakfasts. the wifi was great as well.
everything was fab, my only thought is that every apartment I have stayed in has a washing machine so not having one was a surprise but I had overlooked this when booking it so definitely not a problem on their part. but because of no washing machine, having an extra couple of towels would have been great.

location, location ,location. best place to see Ortigia.
Apartment door is on a common area behind a gated entrance from street. Large unleashed dog was roaming the common area with dog bone with meat still on it, and excrement in the area. We had dog pooh at our front door on one of our returns, but when dog grabbed my arm and left 2 small pin head size punctures, that was not enjoyable. The dog tried to jump on me each time we left the apartment. Dog has to go now. Also, much of the room is taken up by the bed and a small table with three hard table chairs. There was no comfortable place to sit inside the apartment.

The location was amazing! Right next to the Temple of Apollo and easy walking to all sights in Ortigia. You MUST eat at Caseificio Borderi, we ate there 3 times the best sandwich I have ever had. Loved that it had an elevator. The host even came at night to let us in after we locked ourselves out!
Was smaller than I usually like BUT had everything you needed and we knew it was small going in.

Spacious, modern design, comfortable beds, excellent location
Some noise from the street (occasional glass disposal from pub below the property), but no noise of music or people. The room in the upper floor gets quite bright in the morning, make sure to bring your sleeping masks if this is a problem for you. It did not bother me, the room was very comfortable and clean.

Wonderful apartment in perfect location just behind the Temple of Apollon. Walking distance to all Syracusa monuments. Apt accesible by elevator, fully equipped and I especially liked the way how apartment was decorated.

The location of the apartment was good however it was a good 10 minute walk from the car park to the apartment which with luggage is quite a long way. I wouldn’t have liked to do it with kids or in the height of summer. The apartment itself was very clean, modern and had all the facilities needed.
The apartment images on booking.com are misleading as they show a collection of 3 different apartments but don’t differentiate which is which. We expected an apartment with a balcony and bigger space but it was more like a studio. A small bedroom/kitchen area and a bathroom. It did the job but wasn’t what we expected. Likewise, it was great that there was parking available however it was a long walk from the apartment and we weren’t told until we had left that it was chargeable at €20 per day so it was a complicated transfer I had to make to the car park owner via PayPal once home.

The flat was in a great location in Ortigia hidden away in the narrow streets with a private courtyard. The flat was a 5 minute walk away from the main tourist street which was perfect because you’re mixed up in the more local atmosphere! The flat was clean and has a cute balcony to have drinks on. The flat is accessible by lift as well as stairs. The owner wasn’t able to meet us at the property but gave really clear instructions on WhatsApp on how to access the property and was always available for questions!
