About this house rental
Aikane is Hawaiian for 'friendly' which best describes this delightful beach house. Ocean proximity gives you the convenience of a short walk to a variety of beaches. Walk past 2 homes to the ocean then along the coast past 3 more to reach the first of several beaches, body surfing, snorkeling lagoon and grassy play areas. Cool and comfortable, I designed our home to harness cross ventilation from the cooling trade winds. Ceiling fans, quiet split-system ductless A/C and covered parking at your front door are especially nice on those warm Hawaiian days. Our was was extensively renovated in 2023 included new windows, quiet split-system A/C units, thermal reflective roof, solar and more. This really is a cool place to stay. Travel Light. Our home is equipped with lots of beach stuff (boogie boards, noodles, beach chairs, coolers, sand toys). We also provide WiFi, drip coffee makers, coffee grinder, full separate sets of bath and beach towels, washer/dryer and lots more. We recommend guests bring their own masks, snorkels, fins and life jackets, if desired, to ensure proper fit. Bedroom 1: king size bed with ensuite full bath and walk-in double shower. Bedroom 2: 2 twins OR convert to 1 comfortable king bed. Bedroom 3: 2 twins OR convert to 1 comfortable king bed. For king beds, we secure the twins together with a special horizontal strap and center piece covered with a king size topper and quality bedding. We'll have everything set to your preference before arrival. We have a strict 6 person maximum counting the youngest to oldest. Lovely home to spend a week in Kauai. Clean and extremely well stocked with additional items typically not provided in rental properties (toiletries, paper products, number of beach chairs and umbrellas, beach towels, etc.) Chris (the owner) stopped by to bring us some fresh fruit and removed some ripe bananas from the property's tree. Along with the additional fruit we purchased, we make unbelievable smoothies during the week. The location could not be better. Two minute walks to see sunrises and sunsets at Poipu Beach. We drove over 800 miles during our 9 days visiting so many beautiful beaches, sites and hiked several half and all day trails. Also always fun to stop and shop at some great outdoor malls. We were so fortunate that the weather was perfect the week between Christmas to after New Years. Chris sent a thoughtful thank you text after our stay and we replied that we hope our future travels take us back to their home and Kauai. If you are thinking of staying at this home you don't be disappointed!

We chose this location because we read that good weather in the winter is on the South Shore and we were not disappointed. Brennecke's Beach for riding the waves was just a short walk and with a beach cart available it made carrying chairs, boogie boards, snorkling gear, etc (all of which Chris has available!) an easy trek. Poipu Beach located adjacent to Brennecke's is great for snorkeling. And the location is an easy drive from the airport as well as convenient to Costco and Walmart for grocery runs. Chris was a wonderful host and his place provided an inviting and comfortable place to stay during our visit. Should we find an opportunity to return to this beautiful island, we most certainly would choose to stay at Chris'.

Great location in Poipu - easy walking to Brennecke's, Poipu and Waiohai Beach. House was well equipped with beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers etc. Host was very responsive to any texts.

The house was beautiful -- clean, all the appliances worked and close to the beach. The host was truly outstanding. I had one minor problem, texted him, and he replied immediately and fixed it on our schedule. He also told us some history of Kauai only a local would know!

Chris was a fabulous host, and the house was terrific to stay at. Steps to the beach, which we did every day, nice and quiet in the evenings.
We will look forward to returning again in the future for another fun filled week!

We really enjoyed our stay! The location is perfect with a quick walk to two of the best beaches (Brenneckes & Poipu). Plus the layout of the house is great (where the downstairs quarters could be completely secluded if one desires). The host was great and easy to work with. We already miss waking up to that ocean view every day!

Excellent location and Chris does a great job of providing tips for local activities and sights. Great spot on a beautiful island, the beach supplies were much appreciated as well.

There were five of us staying in this wonderful home. the home was well-equipped with everything to prepare meals. There were plenty of beach toys. Nice having the line outside to hang our wet clothing. The outdoor tap/shower to rinse the sand off our feet. We loved the location near Brennecke Beach for boogie boarding, close to restaurants, the Heritage trail, and Poipu Beach. Watching the turtles come to shore at night.
Chris was an excellent host.

Home is exactly as described with multiple comfortable spaces to relax & lounge, both inside & out. We especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen as well as the ample beach gear. Proximity to beaches & the view of the ocean are hard to beat. Easy communication, seamless check in, & attention to detail from Chris was superb! We hope to return!

Location was great. House was very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen lacked a lot of basic things needed for cooking (oil, etc.). Overall a comfortable stay and 2 minute walk from an amazing beach.

We've rented house in several different locations, from Florida, Wisconsin, and Michigan. This is the first house that the entire family started to referring to as "home" instead of just as "the house" after a full day of snorkeling, or hiking. Poipu Beach is literally 2 minutes away and this home had a full array of beach accessories, from fins, to beach chairs. The location is perfect for going north to hike the Kalahau Trail, or go the other direction to hike into the Wimea canyon. It's also only 25 minutes from the airport.
When we come back to Kauai, we would put this house at the top of our list to stay at.

Family Vacation in Poipu
We had a great time staying at Chris’s house and highly recommend it. The home was perfect for the six of us, all adults, with three comfortable bedrooms and separate bathrooms for each couple - and the air conditioning in every bedroom was nice, although we didn't always need it with the lovely breezes. The view and location, just a short walk to the beach, park and restaurant was terrific. Chris was great to work with and made us feel very welcome from the delicious chocolate macadamia nut candy waiting for us to the well stocked pantry. We all enjoyed the games and puzzles on the rare rainy days - you can tell a home rental has their stuff together when the puzzles have all the pieces!!. Can’t wait to return!

If you're looking for the six burner gas stovetop, etc., maybe not, but it's clean and comfortable.

Chris's house is totally set up for the comfort of his renters and we really enjoyed his comfortable 3 bedroom home. From having 8 hanging beach chairs, lots of boggie boards, beach chairs, to large washer and dryer, to a Weber Bbq with 2 propane tanks, to comfortable beds, a nice set up kitchen, nice lanai and so much more.
We do wish the refrigerator could have been colder as well as that the very loud garbage collectors out on the street (house's master bedroom is about 20' from the street) wouldn't start at 5am (not something Chris has any control over).
While we were still traveling Chris text us that his house was ready about 4 hours earlier than we had expected. Throughout our 11 day stay his communications with us was excellent.
It met all of our needs quite well and we hope to rent it again within 2 years.

70th Birthday Getaway
The family and I had a fabulous time staying in Poipu. We were fortunate to have perfect weather. The location is excellent for taking advantage of all of the shopping and eating available around the Poipu area. The off street parking is a real plus.

Great Location
This is a great location 3 min walk to awesome sunsets, and 10 min walk to Brennaci's Bar and Grill and great beach. Owners were great and brought fresh fruit. House is well stocked with all sorts of beach stuff including sun umbrellas, snorkel, fins, boogie board, etc. Had soaps and paper towels and well stocked.

Great Poipu house
Great beach house close to the ocean (15 second walk). Chris (the owner) was great and brought us fresh bananas, lemons, avocados and lychees! The house was well stocked for cooking and had all the beach gear you would need (boogie boards, snorkel, fins, mask, coolers , chairs, umbrellas , etc...) Awesome house!

Wonderful home and experience!
Wow! We can't say enough good things about this property. From the beautiful ocean views, short walking distance to popular beaches, wonderful home with everything you would need (including beach toys, beach wagon, snorkel gear, boogie boards, high chairs.... the list goes on and on) and one of the best parts - Chris (the owner) came to the house to harvest the ripe bananas, mangos and papaya that were surrounding the house for us to enjoy! Chris is a very personable and accommodating owner who was available for all our needs. We couldn't give this house enough recommendation. We won't be staying anywhere else when we come back to Kauai.

Fun in the Sun!!!!
A wonderful place to have a family vacation stay. Short walking distance to Poipu Beach Park and a smaller inlet beach. Close to restaurants, groceries and other amenities. Great views from the balcony!!!. We'll stay here again someday on our next visit to Kauai.

Great house and location close to Poipu beach
We had a great stay! The owners were VERY responsive to any questions we had and updated us on local events that we might be interested in. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. The ocean view on the lanai was a favorite spot each morning for coffee! The house could use some updating but the pictures on line were accurate (so no surprises). I would stay again if we came back to the island. The location is central to most of the islands natural attractions. You could walk to the beach and the local beach restaurants and the house supplied the beach chairs, umbrella, towels and cooler needed. Thanks again for allowing us to stay! I would not hesitate to book this rental if you plan to be in Kauai! Mahalo!

Perfect rental at Poipu
This was one of the best vacation rentals we’ve ever stayed at. Location and layout of the house were perfect for a family of six. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach. Great snorkeling, even for 70 year old novice! Chris was very helpful and has the house well stocked with gear.

Very nice house in beautiful location close to main beach in Poipu. House was very clean. The owner made contact with us on arrival. Chris was a great host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would recommend the house and Kauai as a great place for a holiday.

Very nice place
We stayed for one week and enjoyed every minute, the place is clean and well stocked with with everything you need for cooking. The view is the best and you can walk to the beach in a couple minutes. We are staying our second week up in Princeville and wish we would’ve just been able to stay at this place but I believe it was booked. You can’t go wrong renting this place we will definitely be coming back.

We enjoyed our stay at this amazing location. The downstairs living area was perfect for our friend vacationing with us. We walked down to the beach for sunsets and loved waking up to an ocean view. Thanks for sharing your home, Chris!
