Wonderful traditional home. Quiet and comfortable with extras like coffee and tea. Every detail was presented with classic Japanese finesse. The host was very sweet and helpful. Also a parking space around the corner was great.
The location wasn’t very close to public transport. But the area is flat so the walking is easy.

• We stayed at Nijo Yurakuan for 6 nights from May 21 to 27.
• We liked the flair of this authentic Japanese house in a residential neighbourhood close to Nijo castle a lot.
• The house has 2 floors, is very spacious (esp. compared to apartments in Tokyo) with a good size comfortable bathroom and a Japanese toilet in a separate room.
• What did we like? Everything.
• The house is extremely quiet!
• The little Japanese garden on the ground floor, the Japanese sitting and the Tatami mats create a zen like feeling.
• Comfy beds.
• The house is in a very good condition and very clean.
• The owner provides very good, hotel like service - you get every 2nd day service with fresh towels (they already provide a lot), 2 large water bottles and garbage pick up.
• A decent size clothes rack with a lot of hangers, fridge and microwave add to your comfort.
• Good location: Bus around the corner or plenty of other bus lines 6 to 12 min walk, metro and railway station a few minutes walk away. Taxi from Gion is less than 10 Euros.
• A Family Mart in one direction and a Seven Eleven 6 min in the other direction a few minutes walk away.
• There are a breakfast place and a few small local restaurants nearby, but we did not try it, as we explored the city and were dining in various neighbourhoods.
We loved it - in our view a gem where the owner clearly has an eye on a high service standard and top quality and as such for us a 100% recommendation.
Nothing - we were very happy about our accommodation selection!

とても綺麗に管理されてて過ごしやすかったです。ベッドルームが2階にあってリビングと別れているので、寝る人TVを見る人それぞれが自由にくつろぐ事が出来る！
ベッドの寝心地が最高でした。
個人的な好みですが、照明が電球色しか無かったので暗く感じた、リビングのだけでも昼白色の方が明るくて良いと思いました。
もしくは切り替えができる照明なら良かったです。

Il est parfaitement équilibré entre traditions et modernité, c’est super propre également.
Uniquement certains détails. Je suis grand et les plafonds sont parfois un peu bas pour moi. Et les murs sont vraiment fins donc il fait vite froid. Ce n’est pas super bien sécurisé non plus (certains fenêtres).
