"Mein Rat: unbedingt den Abstecher mit einplanen! My advice: worth the side trip! A unique experience with cooling down in a wonderful waterfall included."

Ambience and relaxed setting and of course the lovely fresh water pool and fall
While there we were told of an easier costal route to Porto which we choose to take however the advice was incorrect and yesterday was our worst day on (off) the Camino it was extremely unsafe and it did not remove us from heavy traffic or the industrial zones (as advised) and it put us at risk multiple times, it also lacked the Camino vibe and sentiment and no one knew what a pilgrim was, which added to our loss. I also did an AI search and have cut and pasted it below. As with the Camino we must live with the choices we make The Drawback: Esmoriz and the coastal approaches lack official, continuous yellow arrow markings from your inland position, requiring independent GPS navigation or road-walking through busier industrial zones before reaching Porto Only divert toward Esmoriz if you specifically prefer an ocean-adjacent walk and do not mind navigating unmarked local connectors. Otherwise, staying on the marked Central Route is safer and easier

A very quirky hostel a short diversion off the Camino route. The river/ waterfall/ pool dip were a god send after a long days walking. A really lovely pilgrims dinner provided by the friendly host costing 8 euros. Cans of beer or soft drinks or glasses of wine all 1 euro each. Dormitory was clean and my daughters slept really well in their bunks. Myself and my husband had the double room, again a comfortable night's sleep.
The diversion through the wood to get to it from the Camino route was quite tricky underfoot in places.

I got here a hot afternoon and didn’t know what to expect. Locations is a bit off. However, there was a waterfall for swimming, hot showers and well organized. Dinner and drinks were offered at good prices, so no need to be closer to ammenities.
Lots of mosquitos😬
