Facilities were excellent, house was super clean and warm!
Location is a bit out the way from the main Lake District and quite far in general from shops etc, however it was quite nice to be secluded.

The cottage was very unique and felt like a home - the summer room, garden, surrounding fields and stream were beautiful and lovely to spend time in, with lots of wildlife around. While the location was far from the more popular lakes, we were also able to visit the beach and Muncaster Castle which were closer by, so it was a good midway point.
The cottage smelt slightly old and was a bit dusty. Upon arrival there were a lot of insects in the house, especially many flies in the kitchen which were difficult to get out, and there were some bugs in the drawers. While the double bed upstairs was very comfy, the single bed upstairs was not. However, after settling in, these issues became easier to handle as they were fixable.

Friendly, welcoming and generous host. The property had everything we needed and more. Very tranquil surroundings. Lovely, natural garden.
In the countryside/natural surroundings you have to expect to encounter bugs. If it’s raining outside they’ll most likely join you indoors. Couldn’t fully enjoy the outside space. Due to the good old British weather 🌧 ⛅️ .
