Volledig tot rust gekomen op deze fantastische plek!

De cottage ligt op een wijngaard, een groot landgoed die eigendom is van de familie (die er ook zelf woont). Naast de cottage verhuren ze ook een lodge. Wij hebben met gezin met 3 kids (8 tot 13 jr) hier 2 nachten geslapen en was echt geweldig. Het uitzicht is geweldig, met uitzicht op de vlakte met zebra's, sprinbokkies en andere dieren. Huisje is ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. Ook keuken met alles erop en eraan (behalve vaatwasser). Verhuurder Jo en Chris zijn ook heel behulpzaam, in ons geval kwamen ze firemakers brengen toen we wilden BBQ-en. Je voelt je hier enorm thuis en is prima uitvalsbasis om naar Kaapstad te gaan (50 min met de auto) of het wijngebied in. Op nog geen 5 min zit een Spar die in principe alles verkoopt. Wij komen hier nog weleens terug.

Op zich zou een airco (zeker in de Afrikaanse zomer) best prettig zijn, maar wij hebben ook zonder goed kunnen slapen. Zelfde geldt voor vaatwasser, is toch wel fijn als je op vakantie bent.

Peaceful Calmness

Very secure and safe location. Close proximity to other wine farms in the area makes it a good base to explore from. Extremely spacious and comfortable unit. Very comfortable beds with good linen. Clean and good layout. Genuine "farmhouse" feel yet warm and comfortable. The views of neighboring farm were spectacular. Didn't even bother to switch on the TV....and I had a 9-year-old with me (so that says alot). This farm produces some good wines too. Their wine tastings should not be missed. There is a certain stillness and calmness of the lodge. We felt refreshed and revitalized after our 2 nights here.

Very relaxed and good value for money!

The location is great, and the little house very nice and cosy. The animals on your front porch is really special! we loved the dogs.

Maybe provide wood for the fire and some drinking water.

Good

Beautiful setting and view. Comfortably furnished and well equipped.

Extremely steep staircase to upstairs. Upstairs floor also very noisy and creaky.

We had a great stay at the Cottage,would highly recommend it to everyone.

Electric Batteries to light when there was load shedding Seeing wild animals,Zebra,Bafallo,Springboks etc

The dogs that stopped us when we were walking out the farm. They didn't touch us but we were scared

we went for a wedding but thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights stay as a family. will definately stay over again.

Paradise near Stellenbosch

The Zebra Lodge is very spacious, comfortable and has a superb view on the mountains around Stellenbosch. From the terrace you see the zebra's, springboks and the Kuifkoptarentale, which really is a very nice bird to look at! You see the sunrise and sundown from this lodge and the view is absolutely stunning. A nice lady came every morning and asked if she could bring us clean towels, make the beds or even do the dishes. Very good service indeed! The lodge itself is very comfortable and nicely decorated. This was our last stay in South Africa before going back home and we would have loved staying a litlle bit longer. During the loadshedding we had some some lights, the tv and fridge functioning and there was a big battery for loading telephones etc, which was very comfortable. Highly recommended! Would love to come back!

This is one of the best places we have visited ok

Kris and Elabet: Thank you very much for your great attention. We had a spectacular day of arrival that amazed us see everything that the place offers the farm has animals just as it offers that graze next to the house and are nearby all day One kilometer away there is a very large supermarket where you can stock up on everything you need, it is practically a small shopping center in which there is a pharmacy and medical attention. In addition, and most importantly, the owner of the place is very attentive and did the impossible to give us the best feeling. The house offers sale of its excellent wines, without realizing it, our wine had run out, we contacted Kris, who came especially at 9 :00 at night to help us, we advise you to take this detail into account since their wine is truly exceptional. This is a family farm and the place is beautiful, for those who do not want to walk this place offers everything you need and much more At the reception was Elabet and she has done everything possible to please us with her beautiful smile and her great attention. It is 40 minutes from the airport, we rented the car from the woodford company, we received a new car that we made a great visit in the area South Africa has a lot to offer and at a very low price so you just have to arrive with a good sling and enjoy this great country. Two great phrases I have taken from this country First: Your Respect is my Strength, (so take it into account) Second: Women hold up the sky, Strong Women Shelter the Earth. Peace and tranquillity amongst the vineyards

Beautiful location, peaceful, tranquil. The lodge had all the comforts we needed. Beds were very comfortable. Nice big rooms. Lovely staff at the taste room. Tasty flat bread pizzas and the wine- cab sav- was not to shabby either

Water leaked from the en suite door despite it looking like the seal were adequate which meant the bath mat got saturated. Towels were only changed the day before we left. Couches need upgrading. This definitely is not a deal breaker. I would happily book another stay here.

A hidden gem

We absolutely loved our stay in Zebra Cottage. the location is excellent - a short drive to some beautiful winery’s around. The lodge is much bigger than it looks in the photos. It could easily sleep 6 people. We travelled with our 18 month old toddler, and it was perfect. It is very well kitted out for self catering needs. There is no dishwasher or washing machine, but they do offer a daily service which is a lovely touch. Staff were all so helpful and friendly, and Jodie was so quick to help us out with what we needed. We can’t wait to come back again!

Break away from city life... Peace and tranquility!

A hidden gem! These cottages are not only comfortable but they are fully equipped with everything you need for a self catering stay. Located in Stellenbosch... But 'far' enough to be away from the everyday busy city life. There was a TV, however there was no need to use it. We woke up to animals grazing a throw distance away.... Had breakfast on the outside patio... Lunch and supper out there as well! The staff.. Absolutely amazing! Friendly and accommodating. Jo was always open to me checking in and putting in a request here and there. This family owned and run farm.... Makes you feel welcome and at home. Looking forward to our next visit!

This is a perfect base for exploring the wine country.

This is like having your own house on a vineyard. It has an older rustic farmhouse feel- rooms are huge, each bedroom has a seperate entrance opening onto the patio which has views of the mountains in the distance and the the game reserve with antelope and zebra grazing close by. You can explore the vineyard and see table mountain in the distance from the top of the property- best done at sunset. The wine tasting at the winery is excellent. Elsabet, our tasting host was very personable and is a real asset to this business.

Very good

The outdoor terrace overlooking a field with zebras and antilopes.

We found a dead and quite big cockroach and told the reception next morning, and when we returned in the evening it was still there. That's actually pretty bad in my eyes. We know that there would be no cleaning during our 2 night stay, but would have thought that the presence of this kind of bug, would have activated som sort of action from the hosts side. The place was in a clean standard, I we iunderstand this CAN occur. But not that they did not take action on it.

Like a Safari on a winefarm :-)

If you love the African Wildlife, this is the perfect place to stay. In front of the terrasse Zebra, Springbok, Nyala, Wildebeast and guinea fowls can be spotted as if you stay on a safari lodge. You also get a compilmentary wine tasting.

Hidden Jewel

Loved the view, proximity to town and nearby main routes. Beautiful cottage setting in wine estate surrounded by mountains. Everything you need was available. Felt at home with lovely, friendly dogs on site too. Lovely walks on the property and between the vineyards. Lovely sights of zebras, wildebeest etc very closeby.
