I had a great stay here. I was initially put off by some of the reviews but my room was more than fine, it was perfect. The bathroom was clean, bed comfortable and A/C and fan both worked perfectly. Maybe it wasn't the most prettiest thing in the world but for this price, it was absolute heaven almost for free in an expensive world today! The Manager Joanna was very nice, kind and warm. The night person was always very attentive and pleasant. Such absolute value for money I haven't seen anywhere else in the world. Plenty of restaurants around plus a Carrefoure just a few minutes walk away, Perfect!

The staff were really nice and helpful in my experience. It was in a great location. About a 10 minute walk from the colonial district and 15/20 minutes from Ozuna Forte. There’s a light show at ozuna forte at night which you should check out if visiting Santo Domingo for the first time. My room had a fridge and decent AC. It was nice staying in a private room with a private bathroom while paying the same price as a hostel or shared room. If you’re travelling on a budget this place is perfect.
My room wasn’t necessarily dirty but it wasn’t super clean either. I kept hitting my head on the shower railing whenever I went into the bathroom and the shower floor had a few small ants / sandflys or mosquitoes which I pretty easily exterminated with the shower hose. The fitted part that the shower head attaches to is vertical so when you turn the shower on, I assume it sprays horizontally through the air. I had to hold the shower head in my hand to clean myself. Little bit inconvenient but not super annoying.
