Green Gregory Villa Nuwara Eliya

The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The location was peaceful with a beautiful view of the surrounding green hills and tea plantations. The host was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and felt very comfortable.

Nothing major. Everything was good and we had a pleasant stay.

Nice homestay. The owners are very nice and accommodating. The view outside in the morning was very nice and refreshing.

The room was a bit small. Bathroom cleanliness and smell could be better. Road leading to the property can be tricky depending on which road you take, as roads leading up are narrow and bad drivers won’t budge if they come face to face. Don’t take the road from Boat tour operating side of the lake.

We were welcomed with open arms by the family. The room was very clean, and had a beautiful view on the tea plantations. Every morning we opened up the big windows and enjoyed the view out of bed. The homeowners prepared us delicious breakfast! Accommodation very worth the price, comfy bed and pillows, warm shower, good location. Truly recommend!

The property is located in a peaceful area, away from the busy town, with a lovely view over the tea plantations. The structure is well maintained, and the room was comfortable and quite clean.

There were several aspects that made my stay less enjoyable, mainly related to the overall level of hospitality. Upon arrival, I asked for a bucket to wash some clothes (Washing machine not available) and a place to hang them, but my request was not followed up on and ignored. Communication throughout the stay felt a bit challenging: I’m not sure if it was due to language barriers, as after traveling for several months in India and Sri Lanka, this had not been an issue elsewhere. I also asked for suggestions on less touristy things to do in the area, but I was mainly directed to standard attractions like the town center, Gregory Park, or Pedro Tea Estate. Unfortunately, I was recovering from food poisoning during my stay, so I couldn’t try the meals offered. However, the prices ($8 for dinner and $5 for breakfast) seemed relatively high compared to other places. No one checked in on how I was feeling, which would have been appreciated. Additionally, the check-out time listed on Booking was 12:00, but I was asked to leave at 11:00 due to another reservation. While I was allowed to leave my luggage, this was still inconvenient. At the check out I tried also to explain my disappointment but this was just poorly managed. There are also small details that could be improved, such as the absence of Wi-Fi and the very small towel provided. Overall, while the place itself is nice, I didn’t feel particularly welcomed compared to many other accommodations I experienced in Sri Lanka.
