Once one knows that Bimbi is really a place for adventurers, campers, and teenagers on resilience education, it was enjoyable. The setting was pleasant (though it took much longer to drive in from the highway than anticipated). Problems we had with understanding the very efficient heater, and calcified pipes (see below) were promptly dealt with. The reception information and key collection (with map etc) was well done and the shop well stocked for emergency needs. The young woman on reception was friendly and helpful. Luckily, it was sunny and an overnight storm had cleared by morning.

I have rated No to Expectations question because we did expect to see more koalas (and maybe a wallaby or echidna). I did read the Bimbi website and other's reviews several times before booking and was excited! Once we got over that disappointment, we made the most of it by just enjoying the trees, walking around the site, the kookaburra, the chickens and the goats - and watching the campers. Being winter, the place was looking a bit drab compared to the photos. We did have some issues in the deluxe lodge (floors get dirty and gritty so a broom would help; one light not working in double room; very low water pressure in kitchen and bathroom, caused by calcium build up in the pipes).

We had a caravan which was comfortable, cosy, spacious, and located close to the amenities and the kitchen. There are hiking trails departing from behind the kitchen were it is easy to spot koalas, kangaroos and birds. The staff was really nice and gave us very good advices on activities to do near by. The camping was very calm, since we were probably off season. The kitchen is well equipped.
