Location. Character, gardens and staff were friendly and welcoming.
Our first room (we did change to a garden view room) was above reception, (439 Euros for one night!) where you could hear everything going on in the hotel. Guests walking past your room, coach arrivals, kitchen staff working, people coming and going. There was a lot of foot noise from the above bedroom. I know its an old building but it doesn’t work as a bedroom in a country house hotel. Generally the prices in the hotel are very high. 15 euros for a toasted sandwich. We should have asked for a partial refund.

Amazing breakfast, and food available in the evening too. Great location for the Coast path and good bus service. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The staff are amazing, so friendly and lovely. The rooms are nice & the wine list exceptional.
If I had to be picky, I’d say the dinner is a tad expensive & you dont get an itemised bill when it’s billed to your card. The shower tray also seems to overflow when taking a shower - but none of these were that problematic, lovely stay and lovely staff!
