The hotel is only about 10mins walk from Fukushima station and there plenty of bars, restaurants and shops nearby as well as transportation options. The exterior and lobby are modern and the lobby is bright and airy with an area you can work in and get free tea, coffee and some soft drink options (in the afternoon only). There is a Lawson convenience store next door to reception which is very handy.
Nearly all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful (though we didn’t have a great initial check in experience).
Our room was large (especially by Japanese standards), air conditioned (it also had a window that opened), quiet and contained a very good selection of bathroom amenities. The beds were comfortable and there were extra memory foam pillows in the wardrobe.
Our reservation said “Breakfast provided” in English, but it turned out this did not mean “breakfast included”. We had to pay extra for breakfast vouchers, which are cheaper if you buy them the night before. However the breakfast was excellent, with a very good choice- sadly not as much sashimi choice as in the pictures (only tuna) but plenty of other choices. Breakfast cost 1650 Yen per person (£7.50/$10) which was a reasonable cost for the quality and selection available. Breakfast service does finish quite early by western standards though, you need to get there before 9am.
The best thing about this hotel however was the price relative to the service levels. It was exceptional value for money compared to other hotels we stayed in during our trip across Japan.
When we checked in the receptionist who served us was polite and professional but not very warm or friendly. We didn’t not receive any details about WiFi, breakfast or hotel facilities and the receptionist walked away before we could ask. We noticed other guests checking in received hotel information as well as information on the local area and restaurants.
So we returned to reception and spoke to a different young man who was very helpful. Every other member of staff we met through our stay was friendly, polite and helpful
So the first impression was bad but things did get much better.
Although our reservation confirmation stated “breakfast provided” we actually had to pay extra for breakfast. I would suggest “Breakfast not included but available for an additional charge” would be a more accurate description of our room rate.
Whilst the reception area was modern our room was a little bit dated and worn. It was mainly clean however the carpet was quite dirty in appearance.

Big room, amazing breakfast (truly amazing!!), and comfy place to work on your laptop both from the room and the lobby area. Friendly staff and good location (<10 min walk from the main station). Convenience store just next to the hotel. Microwave in the lobby, coin laundry and plenty of toiletries provided every day. Towels are changed every day (unless asked not to). Water, tea, coffee all renewed every day as well. Overall, this place was fantastic.
Not a bad thing, but I personally don't need towels to be changed every day, and I was in alone in a twin room so I had two towels available. Hence, I had to ask in the reception whenever I wanted them not to be changed otherwise I would receive a new towel set every day. I'd do it easier and use the magnet system just like the one already there to ask for the room not to be cleaned that day.

Really nice hotel. Amazing value. Good location, heaps of great restaurants and bars close by. The breakfast was awesome and the staff were kind and welcoming. Fukushima was way more fun than I expected!
