30 Wilson

Our stay at 30 Wilson was absolute perfection - a true oasis in Jinja! The room was wonderfully comfy, featuring a great layout with separate spaces for the bed and sofa, plus the welcome touch of in-room coffee available in the afternoons. The attached pool and restaurant area was the ultimate spot to relax. Between the excellent food, great music, and beautiful design blending local materials with lush green surroundings, everything about the atmosphere was top-notch. Everything about our stay was perfect, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Prior to arrival, communication was good, which initially gave us confidence and excitement about our stay. The cottage setup met our expectations and provided a comfortable, family-friendly environment. Breakfast was served on time and met our expectations. Majorine (room attendant) provided outstanding service throughout our stay. She listened patiently to our concerns, handled all our questions professionally, and arranged an extra room perfectly to our satisfaction. During a medical emergency involving one of our family members, Majorine showed genuine concern, acted responsibly, and provided the only meaningful assistance. After checkout, when we forgot some personal items, Majorine contacted us to inform us. Unfortunately, I was already out of Jinja, but I truly appreciated her honesty and thoughtfulness. I did not get the opportunity to see her before leaving to personally thank her, but I would like to sincerely express my gratitude and appreciation for her exceptional service.

There was no proper welcome upon arrival. We were left unattended for about 10 minutes and had to ask staff who were hanging bedsheets to direct us, due to misplaced reception signage. The reception area was unclear and appeared to be part of a bar, with no dedicated staff immediately available to assist guests. A waitress who initially attended to us displayed poor customer service skills. She was rude, she was unwelcoming, unhelpful. She was not speaking luganda and wearing a Kenyan flag wrist band. I wasn't pleased by her tone. We came back to the so called reception again for consultation and we opted to call marojine to attend her response was why are selecting who serve us. Reason was her rudeness and majorine had accommodated us. Some staff members behaved unprofessionally during a medical emergency by staring, making mocking or insulting comments, and failing to offer assistance. A female security guard was present but did not help. There was no immediate response when water was requested during the emergency. There was a pricing discrepancy: the Booking.com confirmation showed UGX 520,458 (all taxes included), but upon arrival we were asked to pay approximately UGX 532,500. Overall, staff professionalism, customer service, emergency response, and price transparency require significant improvement.
