Location was good, right in the middle of Naples and fairly walkable to main areas we wanted to see.
The apartment was large which was why we chose this for our family, however we found it was very unclean, the showers and toilets did not work very well and bathroom had black mould everywhere on tiles and grout, the walls throughout the apartment were very dirty. While the apartment was spacious, the kitchen itself was small and no benchspace, it was missing simple items like a toaster or tea towel that would have made it easier to prepare and clean up after breakfast with my child.
The entry door does not open more than 30cm which made getting our large suitcases in a challenge and a tight squeeze through the door for my husband. Even I had to shuffle through the door sideways to get out, and then it would jam against the floor and was hard to shut.
The host offered to send a maintenance person to attend to the bathroom hot water issue and cleanliness. They offered us a 70 euro discount/refund but I negotiated closer to 1 nights cost of accomodation. However the process for getting a refund was frustrating and their customer service was terrible. They wanted to provide a refund by requesting my banking information directly which I was not happy with. I requested to be refunded through booking.com for safety and security to which the agent refused. I offered them to drop over cash but they also refused this. I am not providing my bank details and as it was, they required an IBAN which my Australian bank does not use. I asked a couple of times why they would refund via booking.com and they did not provide an answer. In the end, I asked what the problem was, it came down to them not wanting to pay booking.com any fees. They finally agreed to refund via booking.com so this was incredibly difficult and not an enjoyable experience while we are trying to enjoy our holiday.
Overall it is an old apartment that is tired and needs some maintenance and thorough clean. Which is a shame, because it has so much potential. We would not stay here again.
