Good!
Excellent location, you have easy access to different museums, Gate to India, markets, etc. It is a safe area, so you can walk late evening. It is very close to the famous Leopold cafe, where you have a 20% discount showing them your guest house key. The staff is very helpful, they helped to arrange Indian SIM on the first day, and shared other tips. Gratis drinking water at the reception. The guest house is quite clean. They allowed us to check in by 11 am.
It was a bit expensive (also without breakfast). It can be cheaper/more affordable, but hope the staff is paid well then :-)

Clean, great location. Good mix of nationalities staying:
I had a private room as juts arrived and needed to sleep. It was quiet and dark. good shower. Kettle in the room. Reception are 24/7 so doesn't matter what time your flight arrives someone is there.
On waking I realised the room was dark because there were no windows! If I'd stayed more than 2 nights that could have felt quite claustrophobic. Little but expensive for what it is. But it's clean so can be forgiven.

Location great - otherwise below average
The location is superb a couple of mins walking from the gateway of india. The room was private and spacious enough. The bathroom was small but ok. There was ac and a fan. There was instant hot water and good shower pressure.
The walls in the room were affected by damp and were crumbling. The room is painted grey and very basic resembling a prison cell. The room wasn't cleaned during the stay. The communal areas were unusable for me as no one provided any upkeep so the kitchen and fridge was a mess. The hostel doesnt allow you to bring any alcohol in - not even a cold beer! There isnt a mini fridge. I paid for a deluxe room which cost more than the standard, but i was given a standard. It seemed all private rooms were the same. So it sucks that booking.com.lets you pay for a better room when it doesn't exist. The room also had a lot of drain flies which could have been managed if housekeeping existed. Overall it's a basic private room. I think value wise it was expensive for what you get.

Be careful. I met a criminal Mubarik Baktoo there. He and his brother robbed me and tried to rob me more ! Not his first move, look at trials on the web

Good
This is a clean place with a top location, there were employees constantly cleaning, no issues while entering late at night (there was always someone at the reception) and communication in English was perfect. The common area (plus kitchen and toilets) were kept very clean. The room doors had an electronic lock and walls and doors are thick so the room was safe and sound proof. I had 2 main issues one is that the the 6 beds dorms are in the center of the building, therefore there are no windows and external ventilation is only through AC (only available at night like after 8pm), there is a fan tough. As such the air inside the room was absolutely not fresh during the day (specially when the room was full) and there was no natural light. So at least for me staying inside the room for other purpose rather than sleeping was an absolute no go. The second issue is that during 2 of 4 showers the water pressure was so weak that it didn't make it to the top of the shower so I had to knee and use the water coming from the bottom (hot water was never available, but at least for me that wasn't a big deal). All in all this is a good place but price quality for the 6 beds doesn't make much sense. However keep in mind that Mumbai is very expensive.
