What an absolute delight - the Gatehouse at the Polesworth Abbey is one of the loveliest properties I've booked recently, and precisely the reason why I always try to find accommodation that is not just a standard hotel. Everything here was lovely - Polesworth's location is a 30 min drive from Birmingham, completely tucked away from all the fuss and noise. The house itself is lovingly restored with a lot of care and attention to its history and natural charm, and all of that really shines through as soon as you step through the entrance. Just as importantly, it is a wonderful place to stay - beds & pillows are very comfortable, all bathrooms are in perfect condition, and the kitchen is perfectly appointed. Father Philip is a delightful host and can really tell you a thing or two about local history - which in turn will make you feel extra special about staying here.

The building and decor were delightful. A great deal of care had been taken to make the stay comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. And the dining arrangements (furniture and setting) made eating as a group very special. And it all started with a very warm welcome from Fr Philip.
