We booked for four nights, the hotel upgraded us into a much bigger room with an astonishing view. The staffs are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was pretty tasty, and there’s no mosquitos in the area which is much preferable. We really enjoyed our stay there!

The location is a bit remote

Spectacular location, set in lush tropical gardens, my beautiful villa overlooked the rice terraces, coconut palm trees, banana plantations and volcanos. It was a real pleasure to sit and enjoy a coffee on my private terrace overlooking the magnificent tropical landscape. This beautiful hotel is truly hidden. You have to drive through little villages and tropical surroundings to arrive at the hotel. A truly natural place to stay, the open-air restaurant and swimming both overlook the rice terraces. My villa was spacious and tastefully decorated in Javanese style, #janetstravelstyle

Le cadre de l’hôtel est magique, perdu dans les rizières verdoyantes, piscine à débordement avec vue imprenable. Les extérieurs sont magnifiques. Notre chambre avait une vue magique. Nous avons tellement été conquis par le lieu que nous avons repris une nuit. C’était certainement l’hôtel le plus marquant de notre séjour.

Seul vrai point négatif empêchant de mettre 10 est le tarif des prestations associées (navette, excursions, massages). Par exemple, pas de grab ou Gojek venant jusqu’à l’hôtel donc navette de retour obligatoire assez chère. Il faut prévoir en amont. Ensuite deux points qui n’ont pas du tout été un point négatif pour nous mais qu’il faut avoir en tête avant de réserver. L’hôtel est difficile d’accès car en plein milieu de la jungle et des rizières au bout d’une route escarpée. Et beaucoup d’insectes en tout genre (sauterelles, fournies..etc) et de lézards, mais c’est obligatoire étant donné l’emplacement. Si vous préférez les hôtels aseptisés, cet endroit ne sera pas fait pour vous.

Magnificent view, nice pool and room. Staff was really helpfull, our tourguide did not show up for mount Ijen and they managed to get us a driver (at 2am!). We were able to attend the blue fire thanks to the amazing help of the hotel staff! Great breakfast. Very calm within the rice fields.

Lunch was quite pricey for the quality of food provided, but the nice atmosphere and view compensate that. As seen on photos, the bathroom was not closed off from the outside. This is nice during the day. But at night, this was not ideal for us since we are not very fond of insects. Remote location is not always easy to find a taxi/food.

Very nice location to recover from bromo and ijen tour. Nice pool with great views. Food is really good as well and staff in the restaurant is really friendly.

You get the feeling the hey try to rip-off as much money as possible when asking for extras.. As you are a bit off-road they probably think they can charge whatever they want. For example we asked for a bromo - Ijen transfer. They charged 2.6 millions.... We denied and found another driver for only 750K.... This is one of the examples where they are really overpricing and therefore you don't believe a word they are saying about "reasonable prices". This is really a big turnoff. Second, We know that the huts are in the jungle but we had a huge ant nest at our spot when we arrived. They cleaned it up after our complaints but they should provide a clean room from start for that price.

The food in the restaurant was disappointing for a hotel of this calibre. There were limited Indonesian options on the menu - which I wouldn’t mind but some of the options on the menu were unavailable. I would advise to eat out if you stay here. The location is quite a drive from Ijen (abou t45 minutes) but that is similar to many other properties around so I would advise hiring a car to get around

The view is great, in the middle of nature

The price is way too high, the room did not have a rice terrace view as we booked it and it was not as nicely renovated as the pictures suggested - the shower sink didn’t work so we had a pool in the bathroom, fresh juice is actually not freshly made, the food is below average but very expensive, the facilities are a bit worn down. there was a dead frog in the pool for 3 days even though I mentioned it to the staff several times. Overall if all prices would be cut in half it would be fine, but as it is it’s not worth the money.

the view of this hotel towards 3 mountains (mount ijen, mount roar, and mount pendil) is extraordinary. the design of the resort is also very eco friendly. we stay at 103 room, the room was the perfect place to get superb sunrise. the breakfast so great, i cant forget the delicious taste of their frenchtoast

as a result of the quiet resort during the pandemic. now the hotel management is doing repairs and they may be understaffed. so the cleanliness of the rooms and facilities is not good. hopefully in the future it will return as well as before.

Lack of activities and high prices.

This resort is nested in an astonishingly beautiful area surrounded by rice fields and jungle, which was the main reason for us to select it for our two night stay close to Ijen volcano. If the weather would have been clear, we would have even seen the vulcano from the resort. But even without being able to see the surrounding mountains, the views have been incredible. We could also see a lot of care going into the place, especially in the restaurant where the staff was very courteous. The more surprising it was, that there seems to be such a challenge with two major parts of the experience: the pool and the food.

Unfortunately the pool looked quite neglected when we arrived. We saw staff in an attempt to clean it in the morning, but they just stopped half way through, so we didn't dare go into the water. The other disappointment came with lunch. Vegetarian options are quite limited so the staff suggested a vegetable curry, however it was truly dismal, there is no better way to put it. They seem to be really unlucky with their cook, which is a pity, because all the potential would be there. Anyway, we went all the way to the village for dinner in a traditional warung, which we did not regret. Overall we had a very lovely stay and the staff has been kind and helpful, which is a plus.

the location is superb, its surrounding with mountains and rice fields view. The Room also clean and comfortable, especially the ones that located in villa no 637 and others, its more modern with wooden style interior. I asked to move to the villas that near main lobby got upgraded room with more superb view! although the room older but still comfortable. As there is no other resto in that location, this hotel resto provide enough choice of food and beverage, their food is tasty, and their breakfast also great!

the pillows in other villa (older style villas) smell damp and not bumpy anymore, I think it should be replaced with the new ones.

We initially had booked another stay, but after arriving there we decided that we could not stay and booked this place last minute. The moment we arrived we felt at peace. Beautiful scenery. Staff absolutely lovely. Food was great and a lot of options. Loved breakfast. Breakfast is from 730 til 10 and after we did the Ijen tour we arrived after 10 am but were still able to get breakfast. Appreciated that. Quiet, comfortable beds, big room. Bathroom outside, which we liked. Quite expensive but our stay was worth it.

Nothing bad really only things I would change is a curtain/blinds on the bathroom door so that it isn't light in the room at 6 am. We visited in rainseason so maybe it is warmer during summer months, but a heated pool would be great ;). However, we didn't mind it that much. It is a beautiful location, however far from everything and I do think their transport prices reflect that as you have no other option to use. I would advise to lower this price. Also no shops nearby, maybe offer a range of snacks/drinks or fill the minibar. Also the Ijen tourpackages were very expensive, we went somewhere else for more than half the price.

The place is absolutely stunning! The room is big and the staff is friendly! The food is also good.

In our opinion the food was overpriced but also when you book a tour from this place or a taxi. There is no grab available and it’s far from other restaurants. So you have no other choice that makes it a bit difficult. Also I wanted to cook some water for a cup of tea but there were ants in the watercooker and mold.

absolutely paradise, 100% justifies the name

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The resort is nestled in the foothills of Ijen, and the views are spectacular. The temperature was cool, and the breeze felt quite good throughout our stay. If you are looking for some authentic Javanese food, then I highly recommend eating at Warung Makan Bu Widi, which is a short 500m from the resort. We ate there 3 nights in a row and it was delicious every time.

The bedsprings were poking through the bed, and the room smelled of mold. Keeping the windows and the doors open helped with the smell by creating a through breeze which was very enjoyable. The food served for breakfast was of a lesser quality than I was expecting, although the staff were very helpful and attentive. The pool became more and more green in color over the course of our stay. In my opinion either the quality of the resort needs to come up or the price needs to come down for this to be a truly excellent experience.
