Location was great. Room was spacious and clean. Air con good.
When we arrived, we waited inside for someone to come and check us in. We dialled the normal number and waited. But no-one came. It was only when we dialled the emergency mobile number that the lady who was standing outside when we arrived, finally ended her call and came in to help us. There was no hot water in the shower - either at night or the morning. Breakfast was chaotic. Please get rid of the big statement toaster which doesn't work. Thats where everyone was queueing. Get two normal ones and put in different areas. And if you know the number of guests you have, plus roughly what time they will come to breakfast, you should have plenty of hot water, coffee, hot milk, all other supplies ready for them. Waited a long time for hot water for tea which wasn't actually hot. Motion activated solar lights would be useful (and an easy fix) in the garden at night. We couldn't see the path to our rooms without a torch.

The location was top notch and definitely the highlight of the stay. Amazing views from both the room and the pool. Plus close proximity to all sorts of activities in the region.
WiFi in our room didn’t work, but we didn’t really need it most of the time.

Historic house.
Friendly host.
Proximity to the castle, with very good points of interest, including restaurants.
A large number of somewhat complex stairs for people with reduced mobility, which was the case for one of the guests.
The bathroom in the room assigned to me was very small, with no space to place toiletries. Unpleasant smell of stale urine near the toilet. Access to it was via stairs.
The breakfast room was cramped and the meal was very basic. At times, it was necessary to ask for missing items to be replenished..
