About this condo rental
Situated in Los Barriles, this attractive condo for $152 per night is a great option for your next trip. Hola, I was invited in 2001 to join my friends on a family vacation to a small village in Southern Baja Mexico"Los Barriles". Little did I know it would be one of the most beautiful places I'd ever seen, with it's turquoise crystal clear swimmable water and uncrowded sugar white sand beaches that you can walk for miles on. This is the perfect place for you to enjoy your relaxing Baja Vacation. If you want some night life, there is usually a band playing or open Mike in town. Once you walk into the condo, you will automatically exhale and the slower pace of Mexico will start to entrance you. Walk out onto the terrace for an outstanding 180 degree view of the Sea of Cortez and coastline. Enjoy the swimming pool or the sandy beach with some of the best snorkeling in all of the East Cape immediately in front of the Villa where you can view many tropical brilliant colored marine life fish & other sea life, shhhh, don't tell anyone (Bring your snorkeling gear). If fishing is your thing you can cast your line right off the shore and maybe catch a Dorado for dinner or charter a boat for some big game fishing. Most of the restaurants will prepare it for you with all the fixens. The villa faces east for magnificent sunrises and spectacular full moon viewing over the Sea of Cortez. Private, friendly & close to town for great dining & shopping. The condo has it's own wifi modem which makes the signal strong. Sorry but the Condo is NOT handicap equipped and there are no stairs or elevator. Happy Trails, Kimberly **The sofa is not a pullout sofa, it's a futon fit for a child or one person/teenager.

The location of the condo was just perfect. Short drive to town and we had the boatful beach almost to ourselves. Great snorkeling right out front of the condo.
The space itself was very nice. Great balcony on both floors! My only recommendation is to update some of the furnishings, other than that the place was amazing and I would stay there again next time I visit Los Barriles.

No hot water in 1 bath sink.

Most glasses are plactic and miss matched.

The whole condo needs maintenance.

with ample views of the bay w curved beach, the beach below complex w big boulders and the pool and large deck w chairs and lounges.
kim is generous with tips on dining and grocery shopping.there are a few good veggie marts spread around beside the bigger town grocery. we loved our week! the condo felt private and very safe.

Super easy check in/check out. We had an ATV for the week so transportation wasn’t an issue for us. Pool was clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay again! Thank you to Kim for the rental!

Loved the location and the Condo Block. Great views, nice pool, safe location with friendly neighbors. These condos are right off of Hwy 1, so very easy to find and get in and out of, good parking lot, definitely better for people with a car and for those who like to explore. The walk to town (on the beach) is a good twenty/thirty minutes and it's generally pretty warm, so do wear a hat during the day. Sun hats will blow away in the winter months. We liked the breeze, we also walked back after dark a few times, so bring a small flashlight, (driving at night is not recommended as cows are often on the road) but walking up and down the beach is pretty fun, not to mention a workout. This condo is a bit dated and could use a little love. However, everything worked well. We had zero issues with the management/owner, and Kristen checked in periodically to see if everything was going well. There is a small grocery store just a short walk south of the complex (we cooked quite a bit, and this is where you can pick up drinking water). Kitchen was well stocked for cooking, pots, pans and such. There is a bigger grocery store in town. For those who like to walk the beach, if you go south for about 20 minutes, there is an old beach club you can go have drinks and food, they didn't charge us to go in, so that makes a nice stop.
There is a really nice and fairly large reef right in front of the condo, so on the days the waves are more chill and don't stir things up, you can have a great time snorkeling. Better in the summer months apparently, when there is less wind and smaller waves but even during the winter (November for us) we went super early in the mornings, sometimes it would clear up later like magic. Do bring your own snorkeling gear if you like to snorkel... we bought ours at Costco and they were not a great set. We had to go to La Paz to find better ones. None of us like AC, so we never turned it on, we had the windows open day and night which makes for a great cross breeze but that also lets in a bit of noise from the side which faces Hwy 1. Not noticeable during the day but if you are a light sleeper, bring some earplugs. Also, the downstairs bed creaks, so that took some getting used to. Couch is comfy if you have an extra kid or guest. This place is great for a family or a couple who wants a bit of space for a longer stay. This stay, it was my sister her husband, my daughter and me. I'd definitely stay again in the future.

Beautiful beach and complex. That being said, I would never stay in that condo again and caution any others-the owner was very rude and crazy. There were no keys to lock up
the condo and when I brought up that was a safety issue she didn’t get back until the next day saying did I have something to hide and that a locksmith couldn’t come until Thursday (we checked in on Monday) because it was “Semana Santa”. Semana santa is not until the week of Easter, so not sure what that was about. No locksmith ever came and so we were left with an unlocked property every time we left and had to take all our valuables with us. Damp towels on the bed,dirty floors, no sofabed. When I asked for the wifi password she finally got back to me 2 days later that it’s on the bottom of the modem-no modem in the condo so no wifi :/. When I brought up all these issues she said if I don’t like it I can stay somewhere else and she’d call the federal police to kick out my family and I. I would havegladly stayed somewhere else to stay but it was fully booked all around. She later apologized and told me she had a falling out with her previous property manager (the one still listed as a contact), who took the keys, and something else about personal wellness, more excuses, then she said I had bad energy and she was done with me, she was very bipolar. A warning-dealing with her is not worth the location! If anyone has further concerns, I have the conversations in Vrbo and will be filing a complaint.

This condo has pros and cons depending on your group! My biggest complaint is that it has one key to the door so you always have to figure out who has the key if there are different people coming and going, it should have a lock with a code!
Pros: on a beautiful rocky private beach, you can hear the ocean and it’s a beautiful view from the deck
Fits family of four comfortably if you have older kids.
Easy check in, condo was open when we arrived.
Good size kitchen.
Cons: WiFi very spotty & unsecured, not good if working remote.
Beds not great…not enough pillows!!
Tons of stairs to get to condo from parking and multiple stairs to get down to beach, would be hard with little kids, older folks etc.
It advertises walk to town, not a quick walk, 20 min walk to Palma hotel & another 10 min to town.
If friends staying at the Palma or in town you cannot ride your atv on the beach all the way, you have to go on road for a bit (not a huge deal but a consideration).
Should have amenities: No beach towels, no cooler to take down to beach, has one old beach chair, snorkel equipment available but in disrepair.
Uncomfortable table & chairs on the deck, it’s a pretty view but don’t want to sit there very long.
You hear a lot of road traffic from the bedrooms.

We were so happy to find everything exactly as it was pictured In the photos, it was so beautiful the ocean views, the gorgeous sunrises. The fishing was awesome with water like a bathtub to play in the surf. We snorkeled right in front of the property and saw amazing colorful fish. We also shorefished right in out front of the property. ATV delivered to our door. We had read the previous reviews and Kimberly had addressed every issue. Everything was perfect! Los Barilles is awesome!

Was average as no A/C in upper bedroom and had to sleep on sofa 3 nights. TV did not work and very poor wifi. No hot water in main bathroom. No outside lighting so be careful of over 55. However great view and beach. I do hate to complain.

Condo is dated but CLEAN. View is always nice from the balcony. Beach is wonderful. The little town is charming. Kimberly was always available and receptive to any concerns.

Great Condo and Location
This was really a pleasure to stay here. It's right on the beach and had the best snorkeling we found anywhere on the coast. Super easy to get into town and the neighbors we met while staying there were very friendly!
We had an issue with check in that wasn't the owner's fault and she and the property manager took care of it right away.
Definitely recommend and would stay here again for sure!

Great beachfront condo

Great stay, nice location.
They stay here was nice. Cant complain when your rigjt on the beach. Pool was nice as well. Great views. Sower down stairs has. O shower head making it tough to use. Im sure its being addressed. No garbage bins on property I could find so Garbage built up fast and had to leave it outside door. Other then that great place.

Awesome location, place needs work, owner needs to communicate better
We were psyched to end our 2 week tour of the Baja Sur in Los Barilles, and so happy to find this listing that we jumped on. The setting is spectacular - nice beach and pool, great views and we met a few super nice neighbors that were fun to chat with at the pool (plus one not so nice when we first arrived, but no biggie).
We arrived to a leak in the upstairs bathroom that had water cascading down the stairs which covered the kitchen and living room floor. We had no cell service so went into town to get a WiFi signal and emailed Kimberly (owner) and her property management company (whose contact info was thankfully posted clearly in the unit). The PMC responded via email within 15 minutes, and the problem was fixed and unit cleaned within about 2 hours. Kim however didn't repsond for DAYS, and we later learned she was out of the area with no phone or internet service (again, thank goodness for the PMC!).
There were a few other less-than-perfect elements to this unit:
• Light fixture over sink in kitchen fell down
• Light fixture on patio missing globe
• Table lamp in downstairs bedroom missing light bulb
• No toilet paper in upstairs bath and only half in downstairs…would have thought a full roll in each to get started!
• Shelf on refrigerator door fell off
• A/C unit in downstairs bedroom too noisy to run
• Left side screen door on patio off track and unable to put back on
• Not able to get TV to operate after following instructions and hours of attempts. Dish box (Cable) not operating and making strange humming noise
• Initial water from taps rusty when first turned off (as if it hadn’t been used in a while)
• Screen in downstairs bathroom window missing
• Paper window shade in downstairs bedroom a bit sub-par
• No 5 gal bottle of fresh water as noted in directory
We got used to all the quirks and had a really great time in Los Barilles and WILL be back - just likely not to this unit unless we're confident that it's received some much needed TLC. We are also still waiting for the refund of our security deposit, which we were told would be sent "tomorrow" on May 16 - today is May 22.

An Amazing Vacation.........
Our stay could not have been more perfect. This location is the BEST!!! It's close to town but not where tourists are on the beach. The condo is warm and homey and Kimberly goes out of her way to make sure that you are taken care of. When they say, "Just bring your toothbrush", they LITERALLY mean it!!! There was nothing lacking at the condo. I could handle my emails, watch movies or the US news, do laundry, cook or bar-b-que or just swing in the hammock and watch the water. Of course, being on the beach AND having a swimming pool was terrific for my 8 year old daughter. Even our Chihuahua was in heaven. (After all, it IS his homeland..:-) We also loved how safe everything is. You can actually leave doors unlocked and let your kids walk around without having to worry - what a nice change that is!!! I would recommend this for anyone - families, couples or just a single getaway. Enjoy!!!

Fun and Relaxing
The Villa was very clean and comfortable and equiped with everything we needed, we loved having the option of either swimming in the pool or going to the beach, we were amazed at the abundance of sea life and loved it so much that we snorkled everyday...There were whales swimming by alon with Mantas jumping in schools, what a great experiece we had.
