The nice modern American kitchen offers a breakfast bar and opens onto the living/dining room that leads to a lovely balcony with views to a wide quiet street with colorful 'bougainvillea'. It is a gorgeous apartment which benefits from all the colonial charm: iron work & Calicanto walls (original stone wall from the 17th Century) all around the condo with a great homey feeling. The condo is fitted with high end amenities, a phone with free local calls and also the use of a cell phone during your stay. LOCATION: It is next to the famous “La Merced” Church which façade was transported stone by stone after the 1st city (Panama La Vieja) was destroyed…the building was actually the living quarters of the monks;-) The condo is steps away from restaurants, bars & cafés, the famous Plaza Cathedral with the Museum of the canal & the up-coming Plaza Herrera which will soon host 2 boutique Hotels. NEIGHBORHOOD: Casco Viejo (also known as Casco Antiguo) is an effervescent neighborhood with its beautiful restored colonial buildings, home to the President Palace, the French Embassy & a gorgeous promenade with awesome views to the city's skyline & the Amador Causeway (entrance of the Panama Canal). It also offers fine dining & entertainment with the National Theatre, great outdoor cafés for a nice drink on one of the charming plazas...an enjoyment by itself! Its perfect location between down-town & Amador, a 5 to 10 Min’s taxi ride, makes it a conveniently central “pied-a-terre”! We loved every second of our experience at Patty’s stunning 2 bedroom loft. Very spacious, open and well laid out, super comfortable, great appliances, fabulous local art, excellent smart TV, easy to use AC. Charming balcony overlooking a lovely street in Casco Viejo, which is THE place to stay in Panama City. 3 minute walk to some of the best restaurants in the city. We stayed upstairs in the king bed which we loved. The loft is even better than the photos!
Patty is an excellent communicator, and gave us so very helpful information, welcomed us warmly even before we arrived. Her husband, Rudy, picked us up from the airport after a red eye flight. We booked a private tour with him to the Panama Canal locks (with IMAX movie included) and learned so much more than we would have on our own. Like having an old friend share the day with us. The boat tour in the canal was unique and fun too. They both gave us many tips on restaurants, shopping, and generally how to maximize our 5 days in Panama City.
We highly highly recommend Patty's stunning 2 bedroom loft. Cannot wait to return!!

This was the best VRBO we have ever stayed at. Not only was it pristine, but It was generously stocked with condiments and coffee to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We spent a couple of nights at this beautiful apartment before moving to Coronado for the rest of our vacation - and I only wish I would have planned for more time here! Not only is this a gorgeous apartment, but the location couldn't be beat! The center of everything and just steps away from restaurants, shops, and a grocery store. We really enjoyed our time on the balcony taking in the sights and sounds of the city.
Communication with Patty was timely and she was incredibly helpful. Including arranging for transportation, giving us some tips for a visit to the Canal the next morning, and I loved that they met us at the apartment to walk through everything. Snacks and cold water and juices in the refrigerator were a nice touch and very welcome after a long day of traveling! She even checked in with us to make sure we made it to Coronado safely which was incredibly thoughtful. :)
The apartment itself was spacious, well-appointed with everything you need, and very clean. It was truly a highlight of our trip and I would definitely return!

I've been staying in VRBO's for 14years around the world and this was by far the best property. Patty and Rudy are amazing. Helpful, make sure you have everything you need. I feel like I have new friends in Panama now. It's on a quiet street with grocery around the corner. Can walk all around Casco Viejo, very safe. The owners include so many little touches that really make for a great experience like coffee, OJ, creamer. We took a tour with Rudy and was a great experience. He went out of his way to inquire about golf courses to recommend. Overall, a great experience and will absolutely stay here again.

Every aspect of this property was excellent. The apartment is beautiful, comfortable, very clean, meticulously organized, and in a perfect location. Every detail has been thought of and provided throughout the apartment, which made us feel at home from the first minute. We really appreciate all the timely communication with Patty. She made sure our stay was enjoyable, helping us from the time we booked, meeting us upon arrival, and being available for questions while we were there.

We all were thrilled with details of this unit, clearly consideration was given to stocked items for guests. They even had extra new toothbrushes & paste if needed. Stores 3- minute walk from door, restaurants & rooftop bars, basically perfect location. But what puts this over the top is the hosts Patty & Ruddy great English very multilingual and there for whatever you may need. We can’t recommend enough booking tours with Rudy enough. Informative patient great guide whom also took care of transfer back to airport at an awful hour with a smile. I would give them more than 5-stars if we could, above and beyond expectations.

Patty’s Casita was just perfect! It was what me and my little family needed because it was like being in our own little home away from home. Central to dining and shopping with the ability to cook at home! 😊

We could not have asked for a better stay! The property was very clean, comfortable, well decorated and in excellent condition. Located in the heart of Casca Viejo, we were able to walk to restaurants and attractions in a safe neighborhood. Patty and Rudy were great hosts who I could easily communicate with before and during our stay. They answered all of our questions quickly and provided great tour options. Super friendly couple who are very knowledgeable about the city. Nice benefit that they also have a tourism business! Skip the big Panama City hotels and opt for a better location and personalized service in the old town of Panama. Let Rudy and Patty plan your stay and tours, well worth it! Great culture, architecture and cuisine. One of the best vacation rentals we have experienced!

Perfect Everything
Honestly there is nothing not to love about this property. The property managers, the location, how well kept everything is and the cleanliness are all top notch. Patty thinks of everything and it was so nice to have the extra touches she adds, snacks, coffee and waters. Also Patty is just a gem, we really enjoyed talking to her and she helped us out so much with recommendations. We also had the pleasure of booking the monkey boat tour with Rudy and it ended up just being us, which was so nice. I highly recommend booking one of his many tours he offers as he’s very knowledgeable about everything Panama. Don’t hesitate staying at this beautiful property, you won’t be disappointed. To say the least, the apartment itself & the decor is stunning...and clean. Loved location, loved place, love Patty. I will be returning to this unit every time I come & it's available. I have stayed in other places in cask Viejo, and they are not of this quality. I highly recommend>

Visiting Casco Viejo was a unique experience. Our stay at the 2-bedroom loft enhanced this experience. We immediately felt at home! Patty and Rudy saw to meeting all our needs. From the guided tours to the available resources in the loft, we were able to easily familiarize ourselves with what the city had to offer. Thank you to both of them! A wonderful place to stay in Casco Viejo!
Our party of three stayed at the 2 bedroom loft in Casco Viejo for just over a week. I can't recommend the apartment highly enough. The listing description was accurate, but doesn't do the loft justice - it is a welcoming, sylish and comfortable place to stay. The loft was meticulously clean and well maintained. All of my communications with the property owner were incredibly prompt and informative. Patty welcomed us at the loft and showed us around and was available via email during our stay for any questions that we had. While the steps up to the apartment may leave you a bit breathless, it's worth it for the view from the verandah. The neighbourhood is great - this part of Panama City is undergoing massive revitalization and the loft is steps away from amazing restaurants and a couple of craft breweries that I'd also recommend (Casa Bruja and La Rana Dorada). If you tire of wandering the old city, day trips to the Pearl Islands or the Panama Canal are easy to arrange. If you want a day poolside, you can get a day pass at the Hard Rock Hotel in downtown Panama City for only $45 a day (which they give you back in food and drink credits). Overall, Panama City exceeded my expectations and the loft in Casco Viejo was the perfect place to stay.

well decorated, spotless, safe and great location
loft was decorated as if a personal home, with artwork, fancy accent lighting, granite counters, nice seating on balcony, big TV facing comfy couch. No plastic chairs here! Good kitchen. Property well maintained and clean, with incredibly responsive host who returned any email right away, and also was warmly willing to offer advice or answer questions. Has AC, wifi, a small modern supermarket (with wine) half a block away, washer dryer on first floor. Building entry and hallways charming, very clean and had fully controlled access/cameras. We felt very safe, understanding the usual rules apply. The hosts are also very committed to an attractive building. We could walk to everything in Casco, which has a lot including a great Canal Historical Museum, and to the Casco Viejo Spanish school we attended. Cabs are relatively inexpensive, and the cab drivers let us practice our Spanish with them! We would definitely stay here again in a future birding or language visit to Panama.

Like home, but so much better!!
My daughters (19 and 15) and I loved our week long stay at Patty's Casitas Loft apartment in Casco Viejo. Impeccably decorated with modern and tasteful decor, local art and comfortable beds and furniture. State of the art kitchen with coffee, spices and everything you need to feel at home. Within walking distance of a very nice grocery, many, many restaurants, nightlife, walking tours, marisco mercado and sightseeing. A two or 3 dollar uber ride to most attractions. Patty and Rudy welcomed us and arranged our pick up and drop off at the airport. Patty was full of wonderful advice and happy to hear from us after an overnight at another location to make sure we were OK. Rudy is a lovely man who cares deeply about sharing his beautiful country and I highly recommend his tours. The Embera Village tour was a highlight for all of us. This is the most lovely rental I've ever stayed at and cannot be compared to any hotel. If there was a way to give this more than 5 stars I would. We felt safe and well cared for the entire trip. Hope to be able to return to this property or one of Patty's other "Casitas" at the Amador Causeway, the country manor house, bed and breakfast. I would also love to try the smaller one bedroom unit in this same building for a romantic getaway with Hubby, who sadly was not with us on this particular trip.

Great location, beautiful apartment
We're a couple in our 50s, and we spent three days at the 1-bedroom loft in Casco Viejo. It was fantastic. Patty and Rudy were extremely helpful with everything--before, during and after our stay. Communication was timely, thorough and friendly throughout the reservation process. Patty and Rudy met us on arrival at the building, and check-in went smoothly. When we had questions during our stay, they always responded right away. They even helped us book a 5 a.m. taxi for our departure. Then, when I realized I'd left something in the apartment, they delivered it to me when I came back to Panama City the following week - impressive! The location of the apartment is great--in the middle of the old quarter. There's a good supermarket just around the corner, and a growing number of good and interesting restaurants and places to hang out in the evening. It's a historic area that is changing a lot. It's elegant, trendy and edgy all at once--which is what we happen to like. During the day there's lots to explore. We walked everywhere, and always felt safe. In fact, we hardly went downtown because we enjoyed Casco Viejo so much. The apartment itself is really lovely. It's beautifully renovated with high quality furnishings and appliances. The air conditioning worked great, too. The upstairs shower was a little tricky, but the instructions were clear so we made it work. All of the information about the apartment and neighborhood were well done and very helpful. This is a first-class operation run by good people. We're already planning our next stay. Wonderful Loft apartment in the most quaint location. Patty and Rudy make your stay very special.
We are two couples 55+ who have just had an amazing experience at this loft apartment in Casco Viejo. Patty and Rudy, the owners, were there to greet us and from the moment we entered the place we loved it. They responded to any queries we had promptly. The location is great if you like to go out and about then head home for lunch. The place was immaculate and every need was catered for. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need, blender for our morning smoothies, coffee machine, laundry in the main floor, local cell phone if you needed it. Patty was so gracious in arranging transportation for us on to our next location and we took advantage of one of Rudy's tours and were not disappointed. Highly recommend this place.

Great Place to Stay!
My husband, sister and I stayed here for two nights upon arriving in Panama City. It is by far the best place we've stayed in the dozen or so times we've been to Panama City. We usually stay a night or two before heading to our final destination of Pedasi. My sister had never been to Panama so we wanted a "soft landing" for her, and a couple of days in the city, before completing our journey. Patty was super easy to deal with in arranging our stay, answered my emails promptly. Their driver was pleasant and met us at the airport on time, Rudy was waiting at the condo and gave us lots of help and info. The condo is beautifully decorated, well located, yet quiet and peaceful. The optional second bedroom n the condo worked perfectly for my sister. She had her own private space. Everything worked the way it was supposed to, and the condo was well stocked with dishes, toiletries, everything. There is a grocery store 1/2 a block away. The condo is walking distance to all the great bars and restaurants of Casco. The condo was spotlessly clean. Patty emailed the first morning to make sure we were doing okay. Check out was equally smooth. Couldn't ask for a better place. We can't wait to stay there again!

Amazing Condo and Location!
My family of 4 absolutely LOVED the condo. If I am lucky enough to go back to Panama one day, we would most definitely want to stay here again. Patty and Rudy, the owners, are awesome!

- Even with two teenagers, it never felt crowded. Very spacious.
- You can arrange tours through Rudy--we highly recommend them!

- There are a couple flights of steps to go up (no elevator). If you need help bringing your luggage up, Rudy and the concierge are more than happy to help.

Beautiful condo, Great Location, Terrific owners!
This was our 4th summer in Panama and 2nd stay in this condo. For stays in Panama City this condo is a terrific choice. It's in a beautifully renovated building in Casco Viejo with grocery stores, shopping, restaurants and sightseeing all short walks. For trips downtown, we used Uber and never paid more than $2-$3 per ride. Parking is a shortage in this area so better off without a car if possible. Our family of 4 was perfectly comfortable for a week and would have loved to stay longer- it feels like home. Appliances, a/c, furnishings are upgraded. The owners Patty and Rudy are the best hosts. Will return!

We would like to live here!
My wife and I just spent four nights in Patty's loft casita in Casco Viejo, and we could not have asked for a better time or a more convivial place to use as a home base. The apartment was absolutely beautiful, decorated in exquisite taste. It has every amenity you could ask for, from a fully stocked kitchen, two baths, comfortable king size bed, a big screen TV, and a lovely balcony overlooking the street and the Mayor's office. There is a second bedroom available for larger parties.
Casco Viejo is the fascinating oldest part of Panama City and the loft offers a perfect base from which to walk and explore. The Mercado de Mariscos (fish market) is less than 15 minutes away and offers an amazing selection of fish and shellfish (fresh tuna - $3 a pound, shrimp - $4.50 a pound). Cups of ceviche to snack on are available everywhere in the market. The grocery store Rey is right around the corner and a large store is just 10 minutes away.
Rudy (Rudy's Tours) took us on a fascinating tour of the city and the canal and we had a great day. He had great tips on places to shop and restaurants to eat in. Right around the corner from the loft is the Tantalo Hotel. It has a rooftop bar that's a great place to have a drink and view the nightscape of Panama City.
