About this house rental
Located in Old Orchard Beach, this charming house for $449 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Welcome to 78 Union Ave - at the top of the hill overlooking the ocean. Our home is recently renovated, fresh paint, brand new beds and furniture. All the original hardwood floors have been refinished, there is absolutely no carpeting, only a few area rugs. The house features five bedrooms, one on the first floor and and four on the second. A large family room, a living room and a large kitchen fully stocked with a 12 cup coffee maker, Keurig, four piece toaster, brand new LG oven, ice maker, microwave and plate and glassware. Kitchen table for 6 and plenty of seating outside as well. There shouldn’t be anything you need. The 300+sqft patio has a five burner gas grill with a back up propane tank. Ouside seating includes a conversation patio set, bean bags, stools and a picnic tables, a 10 ft articulating shade umbrella with LED lighting. In addition to the 8 seat fire pit…there are corn hole boards and bags for your use. The family room has a 60” television and each bedroom has a wall mounted 50” television, all tv’s have Roku built in. The house also features a very strong WiFi network with a mesh relay transmitter on each floor. Very strong signal. Two work spaces at the home as well. One in a bedroom upstairs and one in the living room. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan and large windows (all windows in the house are brand new). Three bedrooms have AC Units and there is also one in the living room downstairs. All bedrooms except one feature a queen bed and one bedroom features two twin beds. All linens are included, as well as bath and beach towels. Also there is a beach wagon, beach chairs and wake boards for your use and enjoyment. There is a pack n’ play and high chair if you need them. Brand new (unopened) full size bottles of hand soap, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are included (in each bathroom and the kitchen). There are two full bathrooms, one on each floor. The upstairs bathroom is a little smaller, but all the fixtures are brand new. The bathroom downstairs is very large and features a new large capacity Samsung washer and dryer. There is also an outdoor shower located behind the home. There is absolutely no cleaning fee for this property. We have always been fortunate to have guests that take care of the property, and our cleaning company is very thorough…as a result there is no additional charge for cleaning. We have off street parking for 6 cars and a good size yard to spend time outside with your family and friends. 78 Union Ave is right up the road from the Beach; easy walk. And a 10-15 minute walk to the pier and downtown OOB. Very convenient location. For your convenience the following payments terms have been set up on VRBO: 50% at time of booking. 50% 60 days before arrival. Cancelation allowed 30 days prior to arrival. What a wonderful place to stay! There were 9 adults and an infant in our party and we worried that things would seem crowded. Actually, there was plenty of room and the walls and ceilings must be really thick because no one (aside from his parents) was disturbed when the toddler had a rough night. Easy walk downhill to the beach (consequently an uphill walk back, but that wasn't bad either)
We are already looking into when we can come back!

Nice location for walking to the beach and the Pier. It’s an easy drive to Portland too. We had plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 young children. The outdoor deck was nice. Didn’t get to use the fire pit due to some rainy weather. 2 full bathrooms made getting ready in the morning easy.

We found this to be a clean spacious house that easily accommodates two families with teenage children. Kitchen includes large family style refrigerator, plenty of storage space and large kitchen table. The two living rooms allowed for board games in one and TV watching in the other. Beds and sofas were quite comfortable. Outdoor area was equally amazing with outdoor shower, large patio, picnic table, fire pit, etc. We had an amazing week! Highly recommend!

Perfect location, the house was lovely, short walk to the beach. The beds are very comfortable, love the front porch swing, love the lay out of the house, room for all to have their own space. This was the perfect vacation. The house fit our needs perfectly. We had 7 adults and 3 children. Plenty of room, convenient to walk to the beach and shops. Colin responded immediately to any request. We loved the house. The BBQ and the fire pit were a big hit. We will definitely be back!

Our family of 10 had a great time in this house. It was beautiful! With 5 large bedrooms and 2 living rooms, we all had more than enough space. Walking distance from the beach and from the pier, it was perfect. The owner was very helpful and quickly answered all of my messages. We would recommend this house to anybody.

Great Location
We enjoyed our stay at Colin's home. The house is well-stocked and close to the beach. Especially enjoyed the outdoor space and bonfire pit. Overall, we would definitely stay here again.

We were a family of 4 adults and 2 kids, We all walked in and immediately felt at home… The cleanliness and care to every detail was apparent as soon as we walked in..! Colin thought of every detail even the small ones.!, to make this house feel like our home for a week. He was so easy to communicate with, he sent us so much info even before we stepped foot in his house. We were fortunate enough to be able meet his brother Adrian and he made us feel very welcomed and my 2 sons really took a liking to him immediately. With Adrian’s recommendation we took surfing lessons right down the street at Mocean. I highly recommend giving it a try, they were just as welcoming and cool to chat with..
The beach was a quick 5 min walk down the street be sure to keep a look out for the adorable bear looking dog he was always sleeping and so cute.!
We walked to the pier a few nights and it only took about 15 mins and there was plenty to see and check out while we walked. The location of this beach house was perfect for us. Being so close to the water we were able to sit out on the front porch swing and see the ocean. My 12 year old son fell in love with the Basketball hoops that are basically 2 streets over we were able to walk to those 94 Atlantic ave any basketball players be sure to check them out the nets were fantastic.! Bath towels were amazing, the quality was better then most hotels we’ve stayed in, ALL the beds were super comfortable and the furniture inside and out was in great shape and well Maintained.. Really I can’t say enough wonderful things about this rental.. we have rented many beach houses and other homes through VRBO this by far had ZERO disappointment..

The house was great for our stay at old orchard beach, just a few block from the beach and centrally located to Portland and Kennebunkport. House was great, road in front was a little busier than anticipated for a beach town. Would highly recommend for a large group of adult or older children

Everything was there and then some! All I needed was the shirt on my back, literally!!
Very family friendly, with room to spare.
Everything you’d want within walking distance, and great sightseeing a short drive in any direction.

Wonderful OOB stay
Colin's home is beautiful, well located, and very well appointed. The beds are comfortable and plenty. The linens were lovely. Colin went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed (including coffee and even cream for our coffee!) and made sure we knew to contact him if there was anything we needed before or during our stay (there was nothing lacking!). He also provided excellent restaurant recommendations and when we asked for help in figuring out where to go to see the best sights, he provided 2 wonderful drive suggestions. This was one of the best vacation rental we've ever experienced!

Very professional, friendly and accommodating.We were 2 families staying here - 4 adults, 5 teenagers and we never felt crowded. We LOVED the outdoor spaces. The deck was used the most and we ate every meal out there (except coffee on the front porch). The Coke cooler was a great addition for the drinks. The front porch with the swing was used every morning from where you can see the ocean in the distance. The fire pit was also used and had a good design to keep the fire going.Inside all 5 of the bedrooms were bigger than expected. Everybody had a good comfy bed and pillows. The linens were good quality, so were the towels. The bathrooms were all supplied with the essentials and we never had to go out to restock anything. The kitchen too...every appliance (with the exception of a dishwasher) was there, same with all the pots/pans you could think of.Having two living areas downstairs was great for when people wanted to spread out indoors. The design of the house also made it very quiet (we had the downstairs bedroom and never heard noise from upstairs and vice versa). The windows are all new and well sound proofed which came in handy as the road is quite busy, but that didn't bother us at night with the windows closed.The beach was an easy walk right down the road, and fairly quiet the last week of August, but got busy the Labour Day weekend. There is a lifeguard on duty there too. The beach wagon was super helpful, so were the chairs, boogie boards, skim board and beach towels.We walked to pretty much everything in town from the house, including Fielders' Choice ice cream (HUGE servings and all home made), and to get cinnamon buns in the quiet community of Ocean Park about 20mins walk away. If you like lobster, there are a ton of places selling them live or cooked (Hannafords had the lowest price and cooked them for you).So overall, this is a great location, a great house, and a super host. Definitely recommended.

August Stay
We had an amazing time at Old Orchard Beach and this property on Union Avenue was perfect. It was a short walk to everything, attractions, beach and the famous pier. Our host was quick to respond to any questions we had, This place had everything and the decor was perfect for our beach stay. Beds were comfy and the common areas were great, especially the outdoors. I would recommend anyone to stay at this property and we can’t wait to stay here again soon.

Great family vacation home
This is a gem in OOB. You can research a ton and still be unimpressed when you get to a vacation home, this is not that! Colin’s pictures, description and info are spot on! The home is a classic home with so many updated touches. A/C and fans are nice updates to this classic Victorian. Ample parking and space a rare in this tight beach community. Walkable to everything you need! The beach is a straight down the road with public restrooms and a lifeguard stand. Thursday night fireworks in the summer and the Pier and Playland just a 15 minute stroll past bustling establishments and nightlife.
My families favorite part of the house were the outside seating areas, cozy deck and grill on one side and fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs on the other side of the house.
Coming back to Colin’s house in OOB is in the list for future family beach vacations !

Amazed by the house and the host!
Colin is an attentive, available, generous host. Communication with him is awesome.
The house is an amazing end of the 1800’s charmer. It comes fully loaded (linens, towels, games, beach towels, a nice deck with comfortable seating for many, a fire pit equipped for 10, etc...). Pretty much anything you need it has, on top of that it also includes a few body boards, skim boards and is a short walk down to the beach and as close as you’ll need to any services. The 5 rooms are spacious and everyone will sleep great on the comfy beds. The decoration in the house adds a very pretty touch to this already awesome 140 year old place that has been revamped with taste.
On top of Colin being a great host, his parents that live nearby are wonderful people and meeting them is such an added value.
Definitely a place I’ll go back to and recommend to friends and family. Nothing but good words.

The owner was great very accommodating!
I asked the owner if he had corn hole boards at the house and beach stuff, he said he would get those items before we arrived. The property was in great condition and only a 7 minute walk to the beach. Property also has a restaurant and two stores only 3 minutes walk away. We had a great week look forward to staying in the future.

Homey, spacious and great location
The landlord was very flexible very honest and very easy to work with. Communication with him was very easy. The house was extremely clean and well organized very roomy and well stocked. The location was perfect for us it was up on a hill with a nice walk down to the beach. Great outdoor space the deck was fabulous and tons of parking for friends. Not only would I recommend this house to other renters but we will certainly be coming back next year !
