This property looks great in photos, but it does not look great in person. The view is incredible and beautiful, but that’s honestly all it has. It was advertised to accommodate 10 guests sleeping, but those 10 guests could not eat together at a dining table for 4. Our family that stayed there was only 4 people, but we then had our in-laws over for dinner one night. The kitchen could only accommodate 2-3 people max cooking and prepping only, and my in-laws had to bring over more pots, pans and rice cookers in order for us to have dinner. We ate outside on the deck, but only 6 could fit at that table….. The kitchen was not sufficiently stocked for more than 4 to 6 people, if you wanted to stay in and cook meals. It said it had AC, but that was only in one bedroom, every other bedroom had fans. The main floor AC didn’t have the exhaust set-up to go outside, so it really did nothing on that main level to cool. The first two nights were pretty hot, but at least by night three we got a little cooler outside, so that helped. It did have 3 bathrooms, but only the bathroom upstairs offered a tub/shower. The main level was only a tub, and the basement bathroom was only a very tiny shower. My family travels all over the country, so I’m used to hosts that go above and beyond for their guests. This property falls short on so many levels. I would not stay here again or recommend it to my friends or family, especially if you have wheelchairs or disabilities of any kind.

I visited Seattle WA for the memorial day weekend spent 5 days at the Rainer house. The house online looks like it's it very good condition but once we arrived the house wasn't clean. The house also was very musty and moldy. Of the 4 people that stayed 4 of us developed respiratory illnesses. The green mold on the deck, chairs and lounger make the deck unusable and the main reason for choosing the house was the view. We also arrived to find the grass in the front and back yard to be a foot tall, someone came unannounced and cut it leaving grass covering the front porch and drive way. This was out first time visiting the pnw and luckily we were able to spend most of the trip outside of the house and only used it for showering and sleeping. I hate leaving crappy reviews for anything but honestly it's just unfortunate we spent over $2000 on the place and would have rather stayed at a hotel. If the owners out the work in on the home it would be an amazing spot because the neighborhood and view is worth staying there.

The description and huge owner's fee (not to be confused with the reasonable per night fee) lead us to believe that our family of 12 would be comfortable in this unit. It said it slept 12 (and it would have except the three air mattresses were unable to stay inflated). We were able to manage with the sectional couch and an air mattress on loan from a local friend - BUT there were no extra sheets (not even enough for the "listed" air mattresses) and a shortage of towels. The owners dropped off more sheets and towels late one night and said they would come to fix our other concerns (broken dining room chair, broken deck table, and more), but were unable to come at a time that would work for them and us. The real kicker was that it was listed as air conditioned. One small unit in the uppermost level worked, but a unit on the main level would not cool - only the fan was working. There were two fans on the top level, by far the hottest level. That was it! - and our stay happened to coincide with the 112 degrees snap that hit Seattle at the end of June. We were miserable!!! Had we not already paid an "owner's fee" and an extra guest fee (even though our 8+4 guest count equaled the 12 that it advertised!!) we would have considered getting motel rooms (which as it worked out were sold out anyway). No screens on the windows, but we slept (poorly) with them wide open along with the doors (a little scary in an urban area) just to try to get some air moving on the main level where my husband and I slept on the sectional. The lowest level had slight coolness because of its lack of direct sun but zero air movement. What the rental did have going for it was a lovely view of the city from the deck and a bathroom on each level of the house.

The house was not clean when we checked in. Linens and furniture were packed into the cupboards in the bedrooms not giving us much space. The downstairs TV is old and does not work. There was no gas in the bbq. The outside smoking containers were full of cigarette buds. The oven was dirty. The dishwasher did not work properly. The panty was full of dry goods that were either expired or needed to be moved to allow for space for us. The wifi in the house is very slow. The views in the morning are exceptional however. Overall the stay was very average and was overpriced for what we received.
