Nestled in Sabana Westpunt, this charming house for $140 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. The apartment located 30 feet from the sea within a small gated resort is situated in Westpunt, a tiny village at the west side of Curacao. From the apartment you have an uninterrupted view on the deep blue and crystal clear ocean where you may spot dolphins jumping out of the sea. For swimming, snorkeling or diving: just walk down the stairs from the resort to the sea or otherwise go to one of the many other nearby beaches. Great mountain biking and hiking on the nearby wild north side of the island and at the Boca Tabla Nature Preserve. The Mt. Christoffel National Park and the Savonet museum are at a 15 minutes car drive away. Westpunt is the ideal spot for an exiting or quiet getaway from daily life. Wonderful property to relax and snorkel
We had the pleasure of staying at 1B for two weeks! We were very satisfied on how clean the condo was when we arrived. The owners, Winfried and Rita, are very nice and were available for our questions. The condo has plenty of space for two people, and the bed was very comfortable. I would say for criticism, that the kitchen has very basic utensils. A little restocking of more plates, glasses and kitchen tools would be great. We looked everywhere for any BBQ tools, but could not find any. There is a BBQ, so we made due with what we had. There were adequate bath towels and linens as well. The cleaning person even replaced all linens during our stay, which was unexpected but appreciated. We arrived on a WEdnesday afternoon. There was no sign of the property manager. We actually did not see him until the beginning of the second week of our stay! This was the only major concern that we had about the property. There was no check-in, no check-out instructions, no communication on anything. If not for the excellent communication between us and owners, this would have been a different review. When we arrived, there was an apparent power outage the night before which turned off our wifi router which is located in the next condo. We did not have any wifi until a couple days in (until the unit had guests who could reboot the router)! This was highly annoying because this listing advertised wifi, and that is what I needed to keep in touch with my kids back home. I contacted the owner right away, and he gave me the property manager's cell phone number. I called and texted, but there was no reply. For me, as a parent, this was a huge inconvenience. During the rest of our holiday, there were a couple more black-outs (which is common on the island), so perhaps having a separate router for wifi would be considered. The upstairs air conditioner had to be replaced during our stay, but again, the owners were very attentive and had that done immediately. I can't imagine what would have happened if this responsibility was solely on the property manager. As said before, we saw him once throughout the two weeks. We had to chase after him, as his only concern was to sell Wednesday dinner tickets. Once he finished that task, he was gone again.
The property of Marazul is beautiful! I enjoyed all the flowers and hummingbirds! We are avid snorkelers, so we swam right in front of the property. The coral is beautiful, there are a variety of fish, and even saw a turtle!

Absolutely Perfect
My husband and I loved everything about this place. It has and upper and lower decks that faces the ocean. What better way to wake up every morning on your vacation? The location is great- very quiet, but not terribly far from the airport and downtown Willemstad. Our hosts were very gracious and accommodating. We would definitely come back here.

Upstairs bedroom fan broke in the first 2 hours. Reported it but no one came in the 4 days we were there to fix. Did not know there was no hot water in bathroom sinks. Little dribble of hot water in kitchen sink. Had to boil water to wash dishes to get them clean. Shower had warm water-not hot
Condo was clean. If you have problems climbing stairs, This place is not for u. Steep stairs to bedroom. Little ants in kitchen but normal for the island
Did not use bug spray. Deep woods bug spray for people worked great. View from back windows and patio were great of ocean. Little noisy occasionally since we were by pool. Condos are side by side for each unit. Can b noisy with loud people next door. Fun to see iguanas on rock wall. Check in and out was seamless

Lovely oceanfront Condo
This was our first trip to Curacao and it won't be our last. If you are looking for a party spot this is not for you. However if you are looking for peace and quite and a relaxing atmosphere, this is the place to be. We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely condo in Westpunt. The owners, Winfried and Rita are wonderful people and were extremely helpful and accommodating. It is a gated community and we always felt safe. Most of the owners and guests are over 50 and very friendly.
There are many beautiful beaches in the area and they are great for diving and snorkeling.
There are limited stores in the area. Make sure you get your groceries in town before making the drive to Westpunt.

Best resort area on the best part of the island!
We are so glad we choose the west side of the island and this sea front apartment. The location provided such easy access to the best beaches, both for beauty and snorkeling. You have the ocean as your backyard- 20 steps from the back porch! The pool made sunset watching perfect. The apartment was so well kept up and comfortable. Great restaurants and access to local culture are literally within walking distance.

Great location for the self dependent traveler.
If you're looking for a place away from the noise, congestion, and hassle of downtown Willemstad you can't do better than this. Buy all your food at the Centrum market and head out to Westpunt. The Marazul resort is safe, clean and ideally located for those who want to dive, snorkel or just hang out at the many nearby beaches. Winfred's place has all you need to prepare your own meals. The wi-fi was reliable and fast. The upper level has a lovely deck and being in the front row of the facility gives you an unobstructed view of the ocean. Having the pool close by was another benefit of staying here. We also enjoyed the easy access to the aquamarine waters of the ocean. Easy steps down to a ladder for entry and exit. Or you can dive off the platform next to the ladder (much more enjoyable). I highly recommend the Marazul resort.

Everything was great with this resort. Only problem was the back screen door had tears along the bottom edge that worsened due to the strong breeze coming through the unit and we had to make sure we were closed up by dusk to avoid mosquitos in the living areas. I'm sure the manager Renee will have it promptly remedied as he was very attentive and helpful. only other thing would be to make sure nothing is left in vehicles, i mean nothing, we had several bottles if water stolen from our vehicle one of the nights in the gated parking lot, yes i said water, couldn't believe it as the island has very drinkable h2o.

Beautiful Oceanside Resort
My wife and I rented this townhouse for one week from April 2 to the 9th and had a very enjoyable stay. Winfried was very good to work with booking our vacation and Rene was very helpful when called upon. We found Westpunt to be very convenient to the beaches, only a short drive (a car is a must) to our favourite Karakter beach bar and restaurant and beautiful Cas Abou beach. We hope to return to Curacao and do recommend Marazul Dive Resort for the beautiful ocean view and a very quiet place to call home in the evening. If you plan on sitting out in the evenings be sure to bring insect repellent, the mosquitoes can be a little nasty after sunset. We ate out at Rancho El Sobrino twice, the food was good and the restaurant staff were very friendly. Very convenient too right beside Marazul Resort. Make sure to spend some time in Willemstad, a nice little city to visit and enjoy a meal or a drink near the Queen Emma bridge. Other than the mosquitoes the only other minor inconvenience were the tiny ants, just don't leave anything on the counter top or they'll get into whatever you leave out.

Great times at Marazul!
This was our third stay in this unit, and we hope to return again! Marazul Dive Resort is a safe and quiet resort. This unit is very comfortable and well equipped for the two of us. Each time that we have come back, there have been improvements made. The most recent were the pergola on the upstairs balcony and new curtains and furniture covers on the main level. The king size bed if very comfortable and the sunsets from the upper balcony are fabulous. There are screens on all windows and doors, and nice breezes flow through. There are ceiling fans up and down which help a lot. We only used the bedroom air conditioning a few of the nights. There is a charcoal BBQ grill.
Westpunt is about 40 minutes from the airport so a car is necessary. We stock up on main groceries at Centrum before heading to Marazul. The nearby town of Barber has decent groceries if more are needed.
We spend most of our vacation diving and recommend Go West Diving for tanks. The diving right out in front of Marazul is excellent. You access the ocean via stairs and a ladder.
We eat most of our dinners, out, and our favorite local restaurants are Sol Food , Trio Penotti, and Landhuis Misje.
The owners, Winfried and Rita are very friendly, helpful and easy to work with. The property manager, Rene is as well.
This is a beautiful unit for a quiet, safe and comfortable vacation.

Lovely nature retreat
This was good value for money. Upstairs, in main bedroom, its is especially peaceful and comfortable. Downstairs living area a bit older. 2 balconies with ocean views. System with codes in stead of keys works well.The condo is in a safe, gated community, Marazul dive resort, so you can leave your windows open at night. I loved the area - totally away from it all, but its not for everyone. There is a nice swimmingpool or you can swim in the ocean, but there is no sandy beach. You go down about 25 stairs and get into the ocean with a step ladder - either to swim, snorkel, or dive. The water is turquoise crystal. There's lots of birdsong and lots of iguanas on the property. Playa Forti, a nice sandy beach, is within walking or swimming distance. To get anywhere else, a car is handy - dive operation is about 2-3 km from here. Other good beaches are Grote Knip and Kleine Knip, as well as the one at the dive operation. Shete Boka National park, about 10 min drive, has wonderful sea views, especially when its windy. The restaurants in the area are very average, but according to ratings on other sites, there aren't many better restaurants in the whole of Curacao. Sol's food, Trio Penotti and Ranco el Sobrino (walking distance) were OK. There is a bar with sunset views close by, overlooking Playa Forti, Blue view Sunset Terrace. Groceries are not easy to get. The store in Barber, about 15 min drive, is not good, especially for fresh produce. The best store for groceries is Centrum supermarket near the airport. I also noticed the manager at Marazul does shopping for a $15 fee.

Marazul- curacao
Our love of Curaçao is enhanced by our wonderful accommodations! This was our 3rd stay here and it was as great as the first. The apartment is very spacious with all necessary amenities. Being close to the pool was a plus. We also utilized the stairs giving ocean access for our daily swims and even snorkeling. We especially enjoyed the upstairs balcony for our nightly viewing of the sunset and gazing at the stars! The wifi was consistent, there are screens on the windows and doors and hot water in the shower. We will definitely return!

great view and snorkeling
We loved our stay. Great snorkeling right from the property, awesome ocean view, quiet. Couldn't give it five stars because the dishwasher didn't work, the ground in front of our patio was tore up because of problems with the pool, the maids never came for our 10 day stay so no fresh towel or other linens, also the air conditioner got really loud intermittently. Great value aside from that stuff.

Amazing Stay - Beautiful, Relaxing
My stay was truly wonderful. I wanted someplace remote and staying on Westpunt was the perfect choice. The location of the resort was fantastic. From my balcony I could just gaze out at the sea all day. When I got hot I took a dip in the pool. I took a few trips to nearby secluded beaches (there are 30+ along the coast). Cooked my own meals and went out to eat to great restaurants within walking distance. Just beautiful, relaxing, and serene. Winfried was super responsive and absolutely everything about the stay was smooth and enjoyable. I would recommend to anyone.

Our adventure trip to curacao
At was a lovely condo direct on the ocean side of West-Curacao. Every morning, the iguanas have visited us to have breakfast on the direct in front of our terrace located palm. A great spectacle.
Every evening, fantastic sunsets. Short drive by car to the best beaches for snorkeling and diving.
The apartment is well furnished and practicable. The equipment of dishes could be a little more comprehensive.

We enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching all the beautiful birds and humming birds. At night, it was delightful to look at the stars at night right from our bed and to listen to the breezes. winter getaway
We enjoyed our stay at Westpunt. The unit was as described and the view from the patio and upper balcony was beautiful. We spent many hours sitting on the patio enjoying the colorful birds and iguanas. Late afternoons the sunset from the deck is beautiful. Even though the days got hot, with the front and back windows open there was always a breeze so we did not use the air conditioner at all during our stay. There are mosquitos and night and they do seem to get through the screens.
The unit was large enough for my husband, our adult son and myself for our two week stay. The futon is abit short if you are a tall person and could be uncomfortable for an older person.
The unit could use a few more kitchen items such as small cutting knife and a few more utensils but we were able to manage with the items provided. As well, the screen door to the upstairs balcony was difficult to open and close and hard to keep on the track.
The ocean in front of the unit was wonderful for swimming and snorkelling-warm and very clear. You can stand on the cliff and can see the fish and marine life below. The snorkelling throughout the island is very good and it is easy to go to several beaches in a day. We found the area to be great for relaxing and the pool was a welcome relief during the late day heat.
The complex manager stopped by on most days to ensure everything was OK and dealing with the owners was always positive and they responded quickly to any questions we had. They also contacted us by e-mail while we were there to ensure all was well and they were very accommodating with anything we requested.
If you are looking for low key relaxation this is the area for you-but having a car is a must so you can explore the island.

The location is very private, safe, and relaxing. The views and sunsets are spectacular.

We would recommend this lovely condo to anyone spending some time in Curacao. The grounds, pool, and buildings are well maintained and it is in a fantastic location. It is 40 minutes from town, and a very quick drive to many of the popular beaches and dive sites. Set on a cliff, the unit is faces the ocean with great views of the bay from both the upper and lower balconies. The pool is just to the left of the unit and there are also stairs down to the sea if you want to swim in the ocean. There is an outdoor shower and dunk tank for diving gear. The condo is well appointed, clean and nicely decorated. There are plenty of towels and the hot water in the shower is very reliable (do not turn the taps on full!). There is lots of space in the living area, two bathrooms and two airconditioners. We only used the aircon at night, did not really need it during the day due to nice breezes and tiled floors. Outside there are tables and chairs for relaxing, and a charcoal barbeque for cooking. Wi-fi is reliable and the TV has many channels to choose from. There is plentiful parking in a secured area. We received very detailed instructions from the owners for our arrival and all went smoothly. The site manager is available most days and is very helpful in answering any questions you may have about the unit, or the area in general. Thanks to Winfried and Rita for allowing us to enjoy this lovely spot.

Great property in the Marazul Dive Resort. Right next to the pool and outdoor shower that overlooks the beach, which is super convenient when you want to take a dip. The ocean is steps away as well. Awesome views and we loved cooking on the BBQ grill while gazing at the sunset. Resort is peaceful and convenient to many great beaches and snorkeling/dive spots. Can't recommend it enough.

The location - great beaches, great restaurants, great adventures - either right outside the door or just a moments drive away.
The room - clean, plenty of space, and all the cookware you would need. Free wifi!

Loved this place! The view from the upper balcony was awesome, the amenities were excellent, and it was so much better than dealing with a hotel. The property manager was also extremely helpful, and the owner stopped by one afternoon to ask if we needed anything. Also very convenient to the excellent restaurant at Playa Forti.

We had a wonderful time at the Marazul Dive Resort in Curacao. Our unit was right next to the pool and had great views of the water. When we ate in we used the upper deck and had our meal watching the sunset. It was wonderful. When we first arrived we were able to keep the bedroom door open at night and had a nice breeze. It did start to get hotter so we had to resort to using the air in the evening. The Marazul resort was close to Shete National Park which we hiked on two days and loved it. Our favourite restaurants where the Butterfly Garden Bar and Restaurant just outside of Soto. It was closed for 3 years and has just reopened. They have a butterfly garden on the back and are working very hard to build back the number of butterflies. The owner was really knowledgeable on the butterflies and the food was amazing! Two other favourites where Sol Food which is only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and Landhuis Misje.

The resort is a beautiful complex located in a very scenic and peaceful part of Curacao. This apartment surpassed all our expectations. We woke up every morning and had our breakfast on the deck and every evening we dined while watching the beautiful sunset. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We didn't use the air conditioning at all. Instead, we were able to open the windows (there are screens) and allow the air to flow through. This made it very comfortable for sleeping at night. Just a short walk up the road is Playa Forti where we did some snorkelling and saw a sting ray and sea turtle. Then you can stop at the restaurant and have a little something to eat and drink. All very calm and relaxing! I would recommend this to anyone visiting Curacao who is not interested in all inclusives.

This was our second but defintely not our last trip to Curacao.This rental unit at the Marazul was absolutley perfect. We had coffee every morning on the upper deck watching the sunrise and rum punches every evening watching the sunset. This unit was very clean and well maintained and included all the amenities you need for a great vacation. Looking forward to our next visit to Curacao.

We stayed here for 4 weeks in February, and our expectations were exceeded. The owners and site managers were extremely courteous and very pleasant to deal with. The apartment was spotless and the resort beautiful. The location of this unit is in our opinion the best in the resort. The local restaurants were excellent, and we particularly liked the lunches at Landhuis Dokterstuin: excellent local food at reasonable prices and great service. We're also bringing back good memories from Sol's and Jaanchie's.
We love everything about Curacao, but especially the rugged beauty and tranquility of the west side of the island. We were blown away by the beauty of the local natural beaches, Christoffel National Park (the hike to the summit is a must do!) and Shete Boka National Park. The impressive architectural beauty of Willemstad is a very easy drive away from the resort. For us, this was an ideal and perfect vacation: safe, healthy and beautiful!

My husband and I visited Curacao in January to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. This is the second time we have rented this condo and are very happy with both experiences. The grounds of the condo complex have the most beautiful of the Caribbean and Westpunt. W spent our mornings drinking coffee on the upstairs balcony, spent our days by the pool which is just a few steps away, and our evenings with cocktails on the front porch. This rental has all the comforts of home, including access to laundry facilities, a DVD player, maps and guidebooks of the island, and very nice kitchen ammenities. The owners even surprised us with a nice bottle of wine and snacks so that we could toast our anniversay as soon we arrived!
