About this cabin rental
Nestled in Seven Devils, this charming cabin for $194 per night is a great option for your next vacation. The Big Chill is a perfect location for your mountain getaway. 3 Master bedrooms with bathrooms, one on each floor with ceiling fans in each bedroom. The master bathroom features a Jacuzzi jetted tub. Amenities include a 40 inch smart TV in the living room with cable as well as a Blue ray DVD player. The cabin also features high speed wireless internet. The living room with its spectacular high ceiling, features a wood burning fireplace with plenty of wood available. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you would need to make a meal. Two covered decks are located above a tranquil pond. The main floor deck has a Weber grill for your grilling needs as well as rocking chairs. The path beside the cabin leads to outdoor fire pit. A perfect place to toast marshmallows and make smores with the kids. The loft area with it's beautiful views and comfy coach and chair provide the perfect spot to curl up with a book or magazine from the growing mini library. Downstairs is the perfect spot to relax after a long day on the slopes or hiking trails. There's a game table for your favorite board game competition or card game. There is also another big screen TV and DVD player as well as a Playstation 2. A great room for movie nights. A tankless water heater means you'll never run out of hot water. With easy access off North Carolina Route 105 on all paved roads, The Big Chill is conveniently located to many fun attractions --- Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, and Appalachian Ski Resorts; Valle Crucis, home to Mast General Store; Horn in the West Outdoor Drama, Grandfather Mountain, and Tweetsie Railroad. Also, don't forget about Hawk's Nest Snow Tubing and Zipline and a beautiful hike to Otter Falls which is right in Seven Devils. Four wheel drive is recommended for the winter months. (see FAQ below) FAQ's *Does the Big Chill have central air conditioning? No it does not. We have found that it rarely gets above 80 degrees in Seven Devils in the summertime. If you open the windows and turn on the ceiling fans the cabin cools down nicely. *Distance to area attractions - Hawksnest (2.8 miles, 8 minutes) - Sugar Mountain (6.8 miles, 15 minutes) - Banner Elk (9.3 miles, 18 minutes) - Boone (12.4 miles, 24 minutes) - Blowing Rock (12.5 miles, 28 minutes) - Grandfather Mountain (14.1 miles, 26 minutes) * What is your security deposit policy? There is no security deposit collected at the time of rental. Your credit card will be held by VRBO until my property manager assesses that no damage has occurred to the cabin (up to 14 days). This policy is designed to keep our cabin in pristine shape for all of our renters. If I don't report to VRBO that damage has occurred, the hold will be released after this 14 day period. * Is four wheel drive required in the winter months? The town of Seven Devils has a chain ordinance that states Whenever the Town Manager, Police Chief, or Public Works Director determines that travel by motor vehicles on Town streets is hazardous due to snow, ice or a combination of both, the traffic-control device (flashing sign) at the entrance of the Town of Seven Devils shall be clearly illuminated, stating that this chain law is in effect, requiring: A. Chains B. Snow tires C. Four-wheel Drive (or AWD) D. A combination of the above. The town of Seven Devils does a good job clearing the roads (all paved) after a snow fall. This includes the road which leads directly to the cabin. * Does the cabin provide keyless entry? Yes it does. Once your reservation has been set, I will send you your personal 4 digit code the week of your visit. * Do you offer long term rentals of the Big Chill? We do not offer long term rentals at this time. The longest rental available is for a two week period. * Can I smoke in the Big Chill? No. There is no smoking of any kind allowed anywhere on the property. Any evidence of smoking will result in a charge to the renters credit card. *Does the Big Chill allow pets? We do not allow pets of any kind.

This cabin is beautiful. Situated on a quiet hillside overlooking a pond. It's cozy, comfortable and well equipped. The fireplace was wonderful on cool nights. Access is easy and communicating with the owners was fast and easy

2nd stay at this property, location is so great. We had a scary moment driving in during active snow fall at night and freezing Temps but we got out and put on snow chains and made it in. We were really impressed with how quickly the neighborhood roads were treated the next day and were able to drive out and make it ski lift time without a problem. I can't say enough about the house. The fire place is fantastic and there is everything you need including ample firewood supply. We cooked in several meals and had everything we needed. You can't go wrong at the Big Chill! Our kids are already asking to go back and I'm sure we will!

We've been going to Seven Devils/Banner Elk for over 20 years. As our kids grew up and married it was clear we needed bigger place with personal accommodations. This places foots the bill perfectly.
EVERYTHING you need. Private bedrooms, bathrooms and a large game room. Fire pit for cooler evenings was a bit hit. Our second stay at the Big Chill. Won't be our last. Brady always responsive to questions or needs. If you want a great place to enjoy nature and be with family...look no further.

This cabin is absolutely beautiful--the cabin itself and location. Well cared for and well stocked. We especially enjoyed the campfire ring and a huge supply of firewood. We were 8 adults, ranging in age from 19 to 72, and everyone had a great time. Highly recommend.

Only hiccup in entire stay, We aren’t big on the mountains but agreed we wouldn’t mind staying in the Big Chill” cabin again!

With no steps from driveway into the house and a master on the main floor, it was just right. The rest of the house was great with bathrooms/bedrooms on each floor, so there was plenty of privacy for ask of us.
As graduates of ASU, we’ve rented all around the Boone area and this is definitely one of our favorites. Seven Devils is the perfect location. We will definitely be staying here again.
