Nestled in Damariscotta, this charming condo for $175 per night is a great choice for your next break. Please read the entire description before reserving your stay and tell us something about yourself. Comfort Found Literary Lodging is a year-round, nightly (min. 2 nights) or weekly alternative to traditional overnight lodging. No smoking (anything), no pets, no children under 13. We think of this property as our home away from home and like to know something about those we are inviting to stay. We ask our guest to leave it in the same condition as they found it upon their arrival. Think of it as a friend’s home without the friend home. We are not a hotel or motel. Our guests have exclusive use of this entire top floor, third story apartment . Comfort Found Literary Lodging is a fully furnished, two-bedroom (each bedroom with a queen sized bed), river view apartment in a historic New England downtown. Restaurants, galleries, shops, a book store, library, the Lincoln Theatre with films and live performances, and the Damariscotta River Harbor are nearby. Please note that this apartment is on the third floor with wide stairs, but no elevator. If anyone in your party has a walking impairment, please consider it before booking. A fully time tenant lives on the floor below. We ask our guests to be mindful of heavy footsteps and noise. Base rate $175 night for up to two guests. Extra guests: $25 night for each extra guest up to two for a total occupancy of 4 people. We offer a weekly discount of 7 nights for the price of 6. Monthly rates available upon request depending on the season. Eat in, dine out, or take out in the spacious convenience of the modern kitchen and dining area. Linens and kitchen essentials for four. Furnished with antiques and clean, comfortable furniture. Wi-fi Internet, DirecTV, and phone. Self check-in any time after 3:00 p.m., check-out time: 11:00 a.m. unless prior arrangements are made. We live on the West Coast, but have staff on the premises. All prices include cleaning service after a guest visits, and rooms come with clean linens and beds made. We do not charge a cleaning fee. We ask that guests pick up after themselves during their visit and leave the dishes washed and put away. We’ll take care of trash/recycleables and the linens after your stay for the next guest. Loved our stay at this VRBO. We enjoyed the quiet quaint town and the lovely views of the beautiful buildings and of the water. We had everything we needed to cook a meal if we didn't want to visit a restaurant on the Main Street. We visited Sherman's books and picked up some treasures but this condo also offered us a selection of reading that would keep us buried in books forever. We loved our stay so much we will make this a yearly tradition to visit this adorable space in the wonderful town of Damriscotta. The owners were wonderful to chat with and made sure that our trip was a special one.

I was in a book lovers paradise. If I wasn’t so interested in the outdoors I could have happily stayed in with their library. But the outside beckoned, the apartment is on Main Street with access to restaurants, bookstores, beautiful boutiques and the Damariscotta wharf. Sandpiper Cruises, a local river touring company, is minutes away. They take up to 6 out the river for oyster tours.

Enjoying the change of seasons on the mid-coast. Got a bit of rain so was glad we had such a great space as we spent more time inside than usual. Two big bedrooms with comfortable beds on opposite sides of the apartment. Good sized well stocked kitchen. Very comfortable living room. All the books you could ever need. Right in the middle of town. Lots to do in the area. Hosts were very responsive - even tracked down some hiking maps that sadly we didn't get to use. Definitely would recommend.

The location is excellent, the accommodations are homey in the best sense of the word, and the literary theme exceeded our expectations. We explored and discovered Damarascotta, as well as some extraordinary texts and authors. There's no place like Maine, and "there is no frigate like a book"!

My partner and I stayed at Jeff and Sharon’s apartment for two nights, and we loved it so much we extended another night. It’s a great space, close to town, with a full kitchen and lots and lots of books to read. Bedrooms are cozy and everything is clean. Jeff and Sharon were quick to check in and help with our needs. Would stay again!

We are so happy to have found this property. The experience was wonderful. The location was right downtown where we could eat, shop, and relax all in the same place. Plus, the views were amazing. The best part was when we wanted to curl up with a good book, the entire family could find a comfy spot to relax and read. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Maine.

We were so happy to have found this little gem! It was so comfy, clean, and well stocked! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud! I especially loved being surrounded by so many beautiful books, and really enjoyed the ones about Maine and of course Sharon’s books! Jeff and Sharon were so kind, quick to respond, and had great recommendations on where to eat. There are so many wonderful things I could say about this place…great location, beautifully decorated, super clean, everything you need, so homey and quaint! My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Comfort Found Literary Lodging! The apartment is so cute and very clean! I loved the thoughtful decor and especially all the books! It has everything you would need and the location is perfect! We were visiting family about 15 minutes away and it was so nice to have this apartment to come back to at the end of a long day! Perfect space, 2 BR and kitchen , living room within walking distance of all shops and restaurants. Beautiful views! Note: lots of stairs to get to the apartment so keep that in mind for carrying luggage!
