Great choice to book Casa Pico Musica, a perfect accommodation for a couple. Our host Michael was very kind and helpful. As we stayed for over a week he offered a bonus pack of some food and drinks which he prepared for our arrival. Also he greeted us with a shot of madeira wine, which was a nice gesture. The apartman is very well equipped and there is a beautiful view on Funchal city and the sea from the terrace which has also comfortable furniture. We had our breakfast there enjoying the panorama. Overall, I highly recommend this place.
It is not about what I did not like, but there are some aspects which you need to be aware before you book. As the apartment is on the upper floor you can use a narrow stair during your stay through a garden full of plants. Due to the location you should be prepared for walking on steep streets as you go back on foot from the city centre. I think if you are a bit away from the very seaside it is quite common in Madiera, though. There is no door between the bathroom/toilet and the bedroom.

Tout était parfait : l'accueil de l'hôte, la propreté de l'appartement, la localisation (nous avons tout fait à pied ou en transport en commun, sans location de voiture), le confort, l'immense terrasse, la vue sur la ville et l'océan, le calme, la proximité d'un supermarché, la facilité de cuisiner dans l'appartement, les nuits fraîches dans la chambre malgré la chaleur...
Notre vol retour a été annulé (!!!) et nous avons même pu rester une nuit supplémentaire dans l'appartement.
Il nous est même arrivé de ne pas avoir envie d'en sortir tellement il était bien.

Great stay in a well put-together apartment, in a fascinating town. The owner Michael is helpful, and we appreciated having the comforts of a private apartment, but also the host onsite if needed. Felt secure but also immersed in local life. Best of both worlds.
We liked it all. Others have noted its up a steep hill from town, however you have a great view, and the large lounge/balcony leading down into a shady courtyard full of botanicals is such a treat.
