Housel Bay Hotel

Amazing location, obviously, we had great views and lovely walks to both sides and inland, staff were friendly and very helpful in moving us to try and limit the effect of the lighthouse, this was very good,

Breakfast was good but other Menu options for veggies were almost non-existent. "Down here (Cornwall) people don't really do that" A salad as a main was sparse but the dressing was very good, still not a real meal despite the price tag. Beware of the lighthouse if you find a flashing light difficult for sleeping, and if you're unlucky the fog horn will go off every 15 seconds day or night. Atmospheric but not ideal for rest. Second night for us the foghorn started at 2.45 am, and 5am the next. Ear plugs help but it depends on your sensitivity. " Quite rare for this time of year". We live by the sea elsewhere and fog can happen any time of year.

The views were amazing and the staff was very good

It was very old and it looked like it had a makeover but the general communal areas were dirty the breakfast wasn’t the best and we weren’t pre warned about the lighthouse’s fog horn which went off every 30 seconds for roughly four hours from midnight onwards!!!!! The fallowfield restaurant was fantastic !!!! However I do feel that the accommodation doesn’t warrant the price !!!

Excellent 5 star customer service!

Car parking was limited and no option for a small/continental breakfast.

It’s a great location. The young woman on the front desk with dark hair was absolutely amazing. She was very understanding, listened to our concerns and did her best to help us. We felt heard.

We booked a room on booking.com which had a panoramic view. On arrival we were placed in a small room looking over a dirty flat roof. There was no view from the bed. The bath was chipped and the bathroom just generally tired. We paid for the expensive meal and that was disappointing. Not bad but just not worth the price. The breakfast was also very ordinary considering the price. There was a shortage of plates and we had to ask for croissants because there were none out when we arrived and when we asked we were told they would have to check. All in all it feels like it is trading on its location and the booking is misleading. It is also all over priced in my opinion
