Lovely location. Calm and easy to relax. Helpful staff and reception.

This is a beautiful historic hotel, set in a truly serene, awe-inspiring location. The property is exceptionally clean and well-kept, though it could use some refreshment as rooms are starting to look a bit dated. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast was very good.

A few things let our stay down. Our first-floor room had its front lake view partially blocked by the restaurant roof. More disappointingly, our original dinner reservation was cancelled because the restaurant was booked for a private function. We chose the hotel's beach BBQ instead, which was a huge letdown—the meat was inedible, the salad had old tomatoes, and the dessert was terrible. Unfortunately, the BBQ experience really spoiled our stay.

This is, without a doubt, the best hotel I have ever stayed at. From the excellent service and incredibly friendly staff to the breathtaking building and beautiful grounds, everything was truly exceptional. The hotel is 100% dog-friendly, which made my stay even more enjoyable. There is direct access to Lake Annecy, and dogs are welcome by the lake and even on the sun loungers. The location is simply perfect: peaceful and quiet, yet with wonderful opportunities for hiking and long walks with the dog right from the hotel. The breakfast was plentiful, varied and absolutely delicious. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and I particularly appreciated that everyone spoke English – something that, unfortunately, cannot always be taken for granted in France. The hotel itself is stunning. It has a very elegant, traditional and historic character, with a truly grand and timeless atmosphere. At the same time, I felt completely comfortable and at home throughout my stay. I enjoyed my time here so much that I will definitely be coming back. An absolutely wonderful hotel in a fantastic location – especially if you are travelling with a dog!

Room was small that I didn’t expected. Heather doesn’t work on the toilet and that was so cold.
