The location of this family hotel and the views towards the Lakeland fells was stunning. The garden and outdoor seating area lovely. Bedrooms furnished to a high standard. Breakfast and home cooked meals were excellent and the owner and staff, who were exceptionally friendly and accommodating went out of their way to prepare us a meal when we came down late from the fells.

They served a good traditional English breakfast, but limited choice outside of that. The coffee was good.
The Young man who was in reception and serving us at breakfast was very polite and friendly.
The premises are very worn. Threadbare carpets, peeling paint, and a 'musty' odour in some areas.
The mattress had seen better days. It had semi collapsed and we could feel the springs poking through.
