From the moment we drove up the drive way. I gasped! What a magnificent manor. When we went to our room I was very shocked, never expected it to be as large. It was like we had stepped back in time. It was just amazing. All traditional old wooden furnishing! Everything spotlessly clean in lounge , bed area ( four poster bed , which was another shock) , bath , shower , sink area all white ceramic. Just spotless. The views from windows was breathtaking
The treats for my doggie , a lovely soft bed , toys , treats and a dried roast dinner and doggie beer. Never experienced that in any hotel we have taken our Riley , our cocker spaniel to
I left my partner to un pack while I went down to tea room. I had treated my daughter and her bridal team to afternoon tea before the big day.
It was more than incredible. A wonderful senior staff member , think it was Dhana? Couldn’t do enough for me as our table wasn’t ready and I had to decorate it ! She found another table and moved chairs to accommodate our party of 7 . Afternoon tea was a big hit with everyone. Staff so very friendly.
When everyone had gone I went back to room . Sorted a few things out and went down to bar and had well earned cocktail. !
Breakfast the next morning was just brilliant. Large area with cereals , fresh fruit , hams , cheeses , breads , croissants. The list goes on !
We then had hot selections. My partner had traditional fried. I had eggs royale . Could not fault food anyway.
Every member of staff were so polite and helpful
Seriously couldn’t fault our stay at all. Only one thing , we had to go home 😢
But we 100% will return, Riley 🐾 and all

Beautiful house and a lovely quiet location. Comfortable, large room. Lovely staff. Excellent breakfast. We hadn’t realised there were Mews Cottages with rooms in addition to the main house. As a tip, it’s best to check where your room is before unpacking and parking your car, especially if it’s raining!
If you have mobility problems, it’s a bit tricky to move on the gravel leading to the main house . Access is much easier to the mews cottages though.

A warm welcome and staff (apart from restaurant) were professional and friendly. Loved the 2 bed mews accommodation, which felt like having our own little house with outside seating area. Beautiful grounds. Indoor & outdoor pool available at certain times. Evening meal was tasty and breakfast a good choice. Plenty of parking. Walking distance to the Flying Horse pub with served lovely food and sat upon a typical English village green. 30 mins to Tenterden & Chapel Down vineyard.
Although it was in the communication I still feel the pool access (7-10am & 5-9pm) for non spa package guests is restrictive. It’s at times when you’re sleeping / eating, so for the £20pp fee we wouldn’t have had very much time to enjoy. This is a negative for me.
The restaurant supervisor / manager was ‘pleasantly rude’ about us not booking a time for breakfast stating the restaurant was full. I have never in 40 years booked for breakfast & even if managing guest times is helpful with demand etc we would have happily sat at a small table in adjacent room. As it was there was plenty of room.
I know things cost a lot now but I expected a little more for £350

Great location .
Mews cottages very tired , carpets stained and loose, poor paintwork, mould in bathroom. Knob missing on stained furniture. Checkin staff booked us into wroung restaurant for breakfast at 10:15 . When we arrived we were told breakfast had finished.
Gardenia staff got the meal choice wrong twice despite being required to pre order for only 8 people . No apology. Bill was wrong on both champagne and wine. One restaurant server rude.
For a Champneys hotel overall poor.
