Fantastic stay would recommend this hotel to my friends

Located overlooking the sea, i had a huge seaview room for 2 nights, which was amazing. Food both for breakfast and dinner was fantastic. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

stayed on for an extra night and was put in a small double bedroom which was not as good as first room.

Good but could be a lot better

Nice quiet location close to the sea, the eating areas are nicely finished and good selection of food and drinks. The breakfast was lovely and good value for money.

We were in the annex, decor a little tired and main front door didn’t lock so didn’t feel safe. The bed in room 19 was beyond uncomfortable and sadly this affected our weekend as we had a busy one planned with our son and grandson but we’re just too tired on Sunday to properly enjoy it after a night of limited sleep.

Very good all round.

Welcoming and helpful staff. We wanted some variations to the breakfasts and the staff were very accommodating. The dinner was good and value for money.

The only minor issues were that the wardrobe door in Room 14 didn't open easily as it was too near an electric socket and there were no hand towels in the room just 2 bath towels.

Very good

Everyone was super friendly and the location was close to the beach. Breakfast was amazing.

The bed was not the most comfortable so did not have a good sleep.

Good weekend away

The hotel is clean, fresh and the staff are very friendly. The food is great aswell. Free parking is always a good.

The walls are very thin you can hear everything the other rooms are doing. Plus we had a couple have a massive argument at 4am which kept us up whilst they was shouting!

The restaurant was very good

Mattress old with springs sticking through, black mould in shower, no mirror over washhand basin in shower room, no washand basin in toilet therefore likely bacteria on all door handles, room needed decorating and some pictures on walls. Furniture needs updating, room was in a converted bungalow with stairs that were dangerous ("going" is the minimum depth for a domestic property), toilet seat needs replacing, electrical outlets behind drawer unit which to be pulled out to use appliances. I took more photos but can't attach them.

Wonderful retreat hotel near Weston-Super-Mare

Only minor thing was the lack of shower head in the bath but the bath was great

Great getaway stay at South Sands .

Great stay at South Sands again ,been 4 times in last 12 months ,it’s so good . Great location on the beach and very quiet ,great walks and only 2 miles from Weston . Great room with sea view ,breakfast excellent and staff very friendly .

Very poor

nice food in restaurant. polite welcome when arrived.

No shower when the room description says shower, the water pressure is very poor. took 20 minutes to run a bath. can feel the springs in the mattress. I left 2 shirts in the cupboard (my own fault), took 2 days of repeated calling to finally get a reply back to be told there is nothing in the room. 100% left them there.

Nice decor

Shower luke warm. Noisy stay on 2nd night with a party going on somewhere. Springs felt in bed, room tiny, wardrobe broken. Had cheek to charge £2.40 for bottled water in the room. A few staff were grumpy. No atmosphere at all. Luke warm tea and coffee, no chopped fruit, little choice, everything on the menu was smoked. Poor quality produce, hard poached eggs, run out of hollandaise sauce but didn't offer an alternative breakfast it was brought to us with an apology no sauce. Had to ask for jug of juice to be refilled and if you wanted more tea/coffee.

breakfast doesn’t open until 8:30am. ok if on holiday but not if you are an early bird and are here for work! No one at reception. rooms are small, bathrooms and shower small!

Excellent stay would recommend

The hotel was excellent had a warm welcome and was given a complimentary drink on arrival which I've never been to a hotel that does that so really liked the personal touch, the room was really nice and spacious, breakfast absolutely stunning highly recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled egg on a toasted muffin. If you like a walk and very active it's a nice 42 minute country walk into Weston Super Mare town nice forestry walk or 7 minute drive. Staff are really lovely excellent customer service and are willing to help in any way.

Not the hotels fault but the car park opposite on both nights were doing drag racing on the first night 11pm then the second night between 12 & 1am which police apparently were aware but went on for at least 20 minutes.

Breakfast coffee was instant coffee, so fresh ground coffee had to be paid for. Ensuite bathroom fan unserviceable; bathroom radiator permanently cold and valve would not adjust.

I was placed in an upstairs room 9n a run down house at the side of the hotel and the noise 9n Saturday was very disturbing going on till 3 8n the morning from the hotel

The menu in the restaurant needs updating. I'm wheat intolerant and vegan, they need to update menu on allergies. I was given a small amount of gluten, if I was coeliac that would have been serious
