We love the location, the hotel is comfortable, lovely food, especially the Indian restaurant and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
It’s a large house and whilst some areas have been maintained and are in keeping with a grand old house there are some other areas which are in need of updating. This didn’t hinder us however, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Hotel rooms are antiquated as you’d expect for a period building, but very warm and comfortable. Would benefit from double glazing to alleviate the window condensation, but then you’d lose the charm of the building

Beautiful grounds. Room was lovely and clean. Old building that could do with some maintenance.
Breakfast was very disappointing. We were told at check-in that breakfast was 8-10am, we went down at 9:15am and the cooked breakfast had clearly been sat there since 8am. The scrambled egg had been sat there so long it was turning grey, and the food was only luke warm. My husband asked for a fried egg as we were told at check-in that we could request things for breakfast, he was told they couldn’t fry an egg for him. There wasn’t much about the customer service at breakfast either, we walked in and there was a young girl there tidying the tables, she didn’t say good morning or explain how it worked, we had to go and ask her if it was help yourself.
