Krabi La Playa Resort

The staff were helpful and genuinely worried when I was unwell. They went out of their way to accommodate my dietary needs after being sick.

Room was a good size with good basic facilities. Pool was nice and had a decent pool bar.

Beds are really uncomfortable. Mattresses are rock hard and pillow where like bags of air.

Reception and restaurant staff very friendly. Good location. Tuc tuc 2 minutes to the center with restaurants, pubs, beach, boat taxi. 10 minute walk for those able. Close to a range of shops and market type stalls too. 15 minutes to an ethical elephant rescue! The hotel was clean and well presented although a bit tired in places. Room was a good size as was the bathroom and shower, we had direct access to the emerald pool although this is a slightly desceptive discription, it sort of was. Very nice though. The rear pathway in is flatter and easier for those less mobile. Staff very attentive on arrival and throughout our stay.

Not enough sun loungers. Only about 20 by the main pool and despite a sign saying don't, people claimed them all day and were no where near the pool area, for our entire 3 hour visit where we shared a lounger as none available even though none actually in use. Staff I feel could have cleared them as reserved with hotel towels. Restaurant was nice but limited food options. Enough to set you up for the day though. No bum gun on the toilets! No nets at the curtains. On ground floor by the pool we either had everyone look in or sat in the dark.

Good location Central to shops and restaurants

Very smelly around the resort, also our room got a bad smell at times. Very noisy at night with other rooms above. Stomping and dragging noises. Breakfast was a variety of things but most didn’t taste very nice.
