This kasbah is not located in Taroudant as indicated. On the map and description on the VRBO booking site it is indicated that the accommodation was in the city, 0.1 km from the central square. That turned out not to be true. It is located in Sidi Aamara, 4.2 km outside the city.We had specifically booked accommodation in the city. We were not happy about that. The kasbah is certainly beautiful and authentic. However, it is really run-down, dilapidated, and unclean. Moldy sofa cushions everywhere, food scraps in the refrigerator, sink, etc. Of course, this does contribute to the authentic experience. We have traveled extensively in Morocco and know that you have to be able to put up with this.In our communication with the owner, she admits that "the web info not correct like always on websites". She does not see this as a problem.

Kasbah Gousteau is an exceptional and unique oasis in Taroudant. The property is a gorgeous, traditional Amazigh structure that is beautifully and tastefully appointed.
Expect every attention to detail in the accommodations and by the staff from the poolside tea to the perfect breakfast on the patio. The property manager, Abdul and his team were amazing and will assist you to meet any request .
We absolutely loved our visit and will make a point to stay here every time we come to Taroudant .
Thanks Abdul for the wonderful stay.
See you soon

Twelve of us stayed over a period of three weeks so it was important to have found a great place. The Kasbah is even more beautiful than in the photos, and the only sounds are the birdsongs. However it is the wonderful friendship and hospitality from Abdou and family that is so amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and all done discreetly. The food was better than anything else we ate in Morocco. You can just relax and they will make it perfect. You can pay every day or two which makes it easy to track the spending and you just pay the cost of the food plus the money for Fatima to do the cooking. Laundry is included . We will be booking again next year but for four weeks!

Kasbah Gousteau was exactly what I’d hoped for and so much more. A village getaway in an exotic, romantic Moroccan setting. The kasbah itself is filled with treasures and I felt like I was in a museum. The pool was so private and serene and I often had my breakfast “feast” there. But the real treasure is the house manager Abdou. I was a single traveler and also there for a month and he and his family really showed me so much about the culture. I’ll always be grateful for all my experiences. For me my stay at the kasbah couldn’t have been better!

Kasbah Gousteau is a haven of peace. The kasbah, which was completely renovated, is made of clay from the garden and the ceiling consists of wood that we could find in the area. When entering the majestic hallway the smell of earth is sniffed The interior has become a harmonious mix of traditional objects mixed with European comfort. Art takes a big place. The library has a wide selection of literature that can be savored next to the fireplace, the art gallery houses old pottery and the Orson Welles bar provides a drink and a drink. The rooms all have a different theme: for example, the Casablanca room is fully furnished in black-and-white-silver combination, the Terra del Mundo houses oriental art, while Lauwrence of Arabia creates a rough Arabic touch. But the respect for Moroccan architecture was always maintained. The garden has evolved over the years into an oasis of peace with its palm trees, its various terraces and shady corners where it is delicious tea drinking. The Caidal tent with beautiful Moroccan carpets and leather poufs will take you to the fairytale of a thousand and one nights. And of course there is the possibility of a refreshing dip in the pool before or after a pleasant nap. The kitchen is one of the best in the area and breakfast is generous with eggs, oil, jam, cheese, the traditional Morrocan pancakes and fresh fruit. Kasbah Gousteau has nothing of a prodigious palace but is grand in its modesty.
