Pleasant

When you stay within the garden of the hotel next to the pool all is nice and beautiful. Breakfast is good, parking space as well. It is close to a few good western restaurants like Dolphins sports bar for example.

The service isn't great. When we returned to the room around 18:00, housekeeping hadn't been yet. When I called reception about it it was impossible to speak to an English speaking staff member. At 23:15 extremely noisy guests arrived and that wasn't managed by the hotel as well. Coffee isn't available in the room, only tea. Dadonghai bay is really ugly and dirty, when you want to enjoy the beach you definitely can't. Yalong beach is much better but isn't near.

Great stay would definitely return

Everything was great. Met immediately by staff upon arrival at hotel. Greeted by many people. Check-in was fast easy and friendly. Room was big. Great view. Great comfort from bed to linens to towels to bathrobes pillows mini bar safe furniture. Breakfast buffet great. Pool area great. Fitness center great and a great spa. Overall great experience. Maid service was spot-on. Always fresh towels and linens.

A/C could have been colder. But room temperature was comfortable

it’s not cheap so of course you’ll get comfortable but for this price you can find a more interesting hotel. the village

Very clean and well maintained. nice pool. amazing terrace view and room but it comes at a price.

staff like not very present. no orientation at all about anything. at least « wifi », « pool location » « what’s to do around » … are basics any 5S hôtel should welcome guests with. no soul there at all. also poor F&B at executive lounge. pool staff was nice and put some nice mood in the property.

The Hotel is the Destination

If you are solely coming to the hotel for the hotel, then this is an amazing place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast and dinner are amazing. There was a wide-variety of food and beverages to choose from- it was delicious and fun. We stayed Christmas Eve and were treated to an amazing dinner and entertainment. It was a great night!

Unfortunately, we also wanted to explore outside the hotel grounds for fun and a relaxed beach vibe. Unbeknown to us, many of the coastal shops and bars had be boarded up, ready for redevelopment 4 days out from our stay. This was a disappointment for us and so we left early (with no problems). However, the hotel is the destination if that is what you are looking for- you won't be disappointed!

not coming back.

the facilities are great and the food was very good. Christmas dinner buffet was very good.

after a nice 8 day say in 2020 we returned for 4 days and were highly disappointed with the service. Very poor English speaking staff, if at all available. For a JW Marriott the service and friendliness was not 5 star/premium.

A Stunning Hotel! Great Location, Exceptional Service & Efficient Staff! Caesar -You were the Best!

Excellent Location. A 10-15 minute walk to all bars & even to the City Center. A Stunning Hotel - spacious, clean, modern rooms which are well maintained. Beds are huge & so comfortable! The hotel staff are all extremely helpful & efficient, however their English is rather limited, but they tried their best to assist & were extremely prompt. The Hotel Manager Caesar was excellent! His English was really great & he went out of his way to assist us. We requested a different room as we were facing other hotels & only had a limited view of the ocean, however Caesar gave us the upgrade & we had a room with mountain & sea views and the breeze that came into the room each day, made it so worthwhile. The rooms are really spacious & modern and there is an ice delivery service which is quite handy! The pool was amazing & we didn't mind the water temperature, as people who previously reviewed their stay, complained that it was too warm. We liked the temperature as we were able to swim late into the evening & it felt like we owned the pool as we were mostly the only people at the pool during our stay.

I would highly recommend the Hotel to introduce some pool side activities like Happy Hours, maybe a DJ or background music, some light afternoon nibbles, to attract more guests. We had our own alcohol and snacks which we enjoyed by the pool, however there was a couple next to us who ordered some drinks from the menu and they complained that it was too expensive and left shortly afterwards to go to another hotel where they could swim and enjoy a happy hour. Guests wouldn't feel the need to leave the hotel if prices were decent enough in terms of alcohol.

Conservative with Care

- nice suite with balcony view of sea - bath tub and shower - breakfast buffet - friendly staff

- no access to beach -also Couldn’t do water activities- unlike other hotels nearby - excessive restrictions with pandemic ( 0 cases in area) - limited things to do. Had to go to other cities on region. - lack of English speakers for an international hotel - staff didn’t know much about . - seafood was so-so.

Very good

Clean, spacious room, with everything you need inside. Pools for kids and adults. Outstanding selection of food for breakfast. Staff was very polite and helpful. Room was perfectly cleaned on time. I loved it much

The access to the beach was closed, but even if it’d be open, you can’t actually swim there as it’s very rocky. So you need to walk about 800m to the actual beach.

Would stay again but....

Breakfast was excellent. The staff was very friendly. Everything was clean and modern.

The pool temperature was too warm, it was not refreshing to go for a swim in the hot weather. The blue lights on the light switches were annoying, I had to buy tape to cover them so that I could sleep. There should be more front staff; there was not a second when the front staff wasn't occupied, there was always a queue with only 1 or 2 front staff working.

Relaxing

The breakfast is good value for money and the rooms are spacious and well laid out. The hotel wifi is fast and reliable and the pool is quiet during the day. The staff are very friendly and most speak some level of English.

Lovely hotel and relaxing experience

I liked the facilities - gym and pool were really nice and we had a basic room but it still had loads of space with big bath, was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful - they gave us a late check out without any issue. The view of the sea is beautiful and the hotel is modern and clean. Spa facilities were great and staff very professional.

Only minor things - charging for fresh milk for coffee. We’ve stayed at other 5* places where they would give you fresh milk if you asked. Pool bar shut quite early and pool access was awkward. Western cuisine buffet restaurant, although very good, was Chinese and Korean food, not European/American as expected. As there are already two other restaurants dedicated to Chinese and Korean food, it would have been nice to have more western choice as we purposefully stayed here because it is a western chain.

Stay at JW Marriott Dadonghai

The hotel is well located at the Dadonghai beach area. Many shops and bars are close by. Well equipped gym and the pool is also very nice and clean. Good for families. The staffs are very helpful and try their best to support.

No connecting beach but it is just 10 minutes walk away.

Pleasant stay

Really like the design and comfort of this hotel. You do not need to leave the property because here you have everything you need for a good stay. The beds are super comfy, beautiful large pool, several options for dining, and the service of the stuff is above and beyond.

Nice 7 relaxing days

The breakfast at JW Marriott is very good. You can choose between western and Asian/Chinese breakfast. There is the option in selecting a cappuccino from the machine, but when you know you can get a real cappuccino with steamed milk. So go and get the real one. The same for camembert. Ask for it and you will get one. Since locals do not like the sun, you can have the pool for half a day for yourself.

Some staff have difficulties understanding and speaking English. Maybe the amount of foreigner is still too small, but would be good to have some more English speaking staff there. I asked while booking already to have the two rooms connected or next two each other. When we arrived the rooms were even on two different floors. Knowing that we travel with kids, does not make much sense. This could be sorted out easily while checking in but could have been avoided!! I am not sure what happened to the omelet, but the two times I got one it was sweet. Compared to Marriott Yalong Bay, we needed to pay for playing table tennis. Please reconsider this charge.
