Room location

3rd floor shower/onsen 1st floor I checked in at 13.00 left suitcase and passport copy When I came back at 15.00 I am 66yr I was given room 3rd floor young lady in her 20 arrived at 15.30 received ground floor I do not understand the logic its not customer orientated

This was an unexpectedly very nice traditional hotel, the room was unusually spacious and very comfortable. Even, Takayama surprised me, I would stay longer if I knew.

One thing to consider is that there is no bathroom in the room, only a public Japanese bath. Was nice as an experience, but can be a bit problematic if one stays longer and has to go downstairs each time to take a shower.

Very nice ryokan with good facilities and onsen. Walking distance to all the places.

We were charged an additional 900 Yen (3 people) for “accommodation tax”. Not unusual for a ryokan in a tourist town, but it should have been stated on the Booking.com site.
