Game sightings both on the way to Imbali and on the game drives. The staff were incredible - friendly, making the effort to remember our names and delivering excellent service. Imbali pay attention to detail and add small things that make for an all round awesome experience.
The food was of a very high standard and a special mention to the chef and to the staff that really stood out: Winston (a legend who's been there for 24 years); Archie (a real character), Morgan (very relaxed and personable), Jan (very friendly and leads well),, Golden (nothing too much trouble) and last not least our very knowledgeable Guide Hayden, making the drives interesting and comfortable with great coffee, rusks and other morning eats.
Communications from central reservations wasn't great and the introductory welcome wasn't well done. Fortunately the staff after that made up for a rather ordinary to substandard start.

Das Reservierungsteam ist eine Katastrophe, nicht erreichbar, fahrlässig mit Daten, hatten nämlich ein Datenleck und ich mehrfach danach phishing Attacken. Schickten veraltete Standardnachrichten. Auch über booking.com nicht erreichbar, also auch Kritik an booking.com
Dusche ging nur heiß und wurde nicht repariert.

-The first game drive was fantastic. Thanks again to Tian for the experience! The guide on the morning drive was a bit unmotivated and we didn‘t enjoy that ride that much. However the number of animals we saw on both rides was excellent.
-good wifi all over the property and good water pressure in the room
-gorgeous views from the dining deck onto the water hole (we saw elephants, hyenas, leopard and impala from there)
-all three courses were from buffet. I would have appreciated at least dinner or part of it as a la carte. The buffet selection was a bit on the boring side (sometimes same items for lunch and dinner).
-service was overall confusing, very inconsistent and not really friendly. For example: when we arrived no one was expecting us. For check out we had to go to the kitchen to find someone taking care.
-the outside areas within the lodge didnt look very well maintained and were a bit sad to look at.
