Liked staff members, like Caroline’s sunny personality, and Khanyo’s enthusiasm. Breakfast was great. However it was a very cold rainy day and the checkin reception was freezing On days like this, the area should be heated. Loved having a fireplace, but the smoke wasn’t pulling out of the chimney and thus smoked out the room. I ended up coughing and having very burny eyes. Otherwise gets a 10

Beautiful gardens. Lovely birthday greeting left in the room with a bottle of bubbly. Little details that make a big difference. Great to have the Zinzi restaurant close by and not having to drive anywhere. Zinzi was of a surprisingly high standard for a country restaurant.

First and foremost, the service at Hunter's Country House is truly unparalleled. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, proactively offering help and personalizing our stay to our needs—it felt like every staff member knew who we were! We loved the thoughtful touches, from the warm notes and sweets waiting in our immaculately clean room to finding our rental car washed with a bag of water and road snacks ready for us at checkout.  The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, and the estate grounds are stunning (we even spotted deer and baboons wandering around). Dining was another highlight; the included breakfast was generous with a large selection, and our dinners at Sage and Zinzi were delicious, offering a great wine selection and excellent value for money. Highly recommended!
