About this cottage rental
Situated in Morro Bay, this attractive cottage for $144 per night is a great choice for your next break. An enchanting private cottage, ideal for two. Steps from the sand, whale spouts, sand dollars and sea otters to greet you. Private entrance, King size bed, fireplace and private bath. Outdoor seating area to enjoy ocean sunset views. Small refrigerator, microwave and place settings to make your stay easy and comfortable. Outdoor storage for beach toys, if you would like to bring them. Private washer and dryer. You are surrounded by fabulous scenery and places to visit, whether walking, biking, horseback riding, surfing, kayaking, paddle-boarding or hiking. Morro Bay's Embarcadero is a relaxed walk from the cottage. For further jaunts, you can get in your car with easy access to major Central Coast attractions, such as the famous Hearst Castle, Paso Robles wine country, Cayucos pier, Cambria's moonstone boardwalk and Montana de Oro. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is only 15 minutes by car, so parents can visit children at school and escape back to the coast easily. We do not allow smoking, children or pets. We welcome your visit and will be happy to share our little piece of paradise with you!

We had a wonderful time. Everything was. Perfect. The guest room is located in a quite neighborhood away from town and a short walk to the ocean. The room is clean and charming. The host is very thoughtful and adds many special touches and provides many essential and extras to make your stay enjoyable. We hope to return next time we visit Morro Bay!

Very nice stay, cozy clean & bedroom fireplace was perfect. All the extra amenities like birthday balloons, birthday cake , champagne for mimosas set the tone for my boyfriend’s 68th birthday celebration. Perfect spot to rest & relax. Near all the popular amenities & restaurants in the central coast. We will be back ! Sabine & Dave went above & beyond for us.

Staying at Captian Java's Cabin was an excellent experience for us as it was our very first time staying at a VRBO. David & Sabine were excellent Hosts. The place was very clean. The Ocean themed room was wonderful!
We felt like we were at Home in their place.
The fresh flowers and Champagne was a terrific surprise!

Can see ocean from front yard and walk easily to the beach. Neighborhood is lovely. Indoor toasty fireplace, outdoor firepit and sarapes are great for Morro Bay weather.

We choose to stay at the Captain Java cabin to celebrate my birthday and boy did we hit a grand slam!!
David and Sabine are fantastic hosts and their unit is exactly as described and shown in the pictures but even more wonderful when you see it in person. It's in a great location with great amenities and comfort items.
David and Sabine are very friendly and helpful and made our stay a vey memorable one.
We are already planning our return trip for next year.
If we could, I would give them a 10++rating!!!

This is a beautiful unit! It was in a wonderful location, very clean, the host had excellent communication, and provided a variety of snacks. We were very happy there and would like to go back again.

Super cute studio, just as photos show. LOVE that hosts provided coffee pot with ground coffee, & water boiler with teas/instant coffees, & even some milk, juice, etc in the little fridge! Also some snacks in case you arrive late or leave early. Toiletries in the bathroom. Not really much ocean view from the outside table, but it sure was nice to sit out there in the cool am with coffee! Great sunset over the ocean if you walk 30 yards down the street. Super close to walking paths to get to the quiet beach where you can walk forever. King bed was comfy, shower good. Pedestal sink makes it hard for storage, but there are adjacent cabinets. Not really room to store golf clubs inside, but we felt safe with them in our car, parked on the street. The fridge is small, the freezer tiny & not big enough to fit a pint of ice cream. They provide cutlery/plates, and have a grill available, but might be a tad inconvenient to do prep work in the room – we did not – we ate out both nights. Also did not use the washer/dryer. We knew there was no AC, but that generally isn’t an issue in coastal cities. It wouldn’t have been, but on the 1st night with the windows open, the noise of the cicadas/crickets kept us both up all night. The seagulls are crazy loud starting at sunrise. For night 2, we shut the window and put both fans on but it was way too hot – we needed to move on to the next place to get some sleep! Two nights, two uncomfortable sleeps. We would stay here again if it wasn't hot.

This is a wonderful place to stay. You can walk to the beach and see pelicans, whales, seals, gulls, and several varieties of sandpipers. In town (a short drive away or a long walk along the ocean) you can see Sea Otters and their babies. The room is very comfortable and quiet.

Wonderfully decorated, spacious, half a block from the beach, and we had everything we needed! It’s a quiet neighborhood overnight and parking on the street directly in front of the rental was great. This was a wonderful location and the hosts were super responsive when we had a couple of questions. We would definitely stay again!

It's a really nice & wonderful cottage. The owners have put in some nice touches in decorating and making the place comfortable for guests. Check-in/out process is super easy and simple. The location is in a quiet neighborhood (except for the sound of the seagulls across the street rooftop :-D ) and near the beach (walking distance) The place lacks a kitchen but it has a small fridge, coffee maker, electric kettle, microwave oven ... The king bed is comfortable, the bathroom is big and the place is well-kept. I would certainly come back to this cottage.

This place was wonderful! Everything was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The cute and thoughtful decorations were an added bonus. It had everything we needed. There were so many small details that were greatly appreciated, especially the breakfast food items, champagne and fresh cut flowers! We will definitely stay here again!

5 stars- from the checkin to check out process. Great front patio to view the ocean and take in the sounds and sunshine. Quiet peaceful neighborhood. The studio feel was great, comfy bed and pillows too. Just like the pictures. We got the pleasure of meeting our hosts Dave and Sabine. They gave a lot of suggestions on places to eat. Truly lovely people.
We will definitely be coming back.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely. David and Sabine were most gracious hosts. The inside is well thought out and lovely amenities are provided for your stay. The front has chairs and a large table for just enjoying the weather and the ocean literally at the end of the block! I highly recommend staying at this lovely beachside bungalow.

We stayed here for our anniversary and it was perfect ! We even got a special surprise for our anniversary … which was so thoughtful ! Loved being able to relax outside and be within walking distance to the ocean ! We had such a wonderful stay!!
