Nestled in Ban Tai, this charming house for $83 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Longtail Beach House is located above a turquoise bay with excellent views, 1-2 minute walk to the beach, minutes to shopping, restaurants, and activities. The house is private but serviced by resort staff that can help with your holiday needs. The resort offers their pool for use. Expect to hear other travelers, motorbikes and jungle noise during your stay. This unique house is designed with traditional rustic Thai materials and blended with modern conveniences needed to make your stay comfortable. We want you to feel like you are staying on a tropical island in Thailand and not a typical, concrete modern bungalow found everywhere else in the world. The open floor plan extends onto the large balconies to offer you a natural outdoor feeling while in the comforts of home. Enjoy a tropical breeze swinging in the hammocks, or reading on the outdoor lounge. Listen to the jungle music & soothe your mind, gazing into the palm lined mountains. Small boats sail the blue bay below. A short minute stroll down the driveway leads you to a white sand beach perfect for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, jogging or sun tanning. A variety of activities are offered including trekking, mini-golf, island tours, and boat, diving, fishing and Marine Park trips. The two sleeping rooms have air-conditioning. Getting Around: If you want more adventure than the typical relaxing beach activities, you can take to the mountains, or explore the island by boat or private taxi. The house is located at the entrance to a bungalow resort so you get to take advantage of all the reception and concierge conveniences. With convenience comes the noise of travelers like yourself. Reminder: You are not isolated or in a sanctuary, there is a road where you can walk around and will have normal traffic comings and goings. What else to do in the area: The local village is a tiny tourist town with amenities including ATM’s, mini-marts, resorts, shops, kiosks, food court, nursing clinics, travel agents, motorbike rental, temple, restaurants, mini-golf, nightlife and guests from all over the world. The Island is covered in tropical jungle with small roads to navigate across. Island tours include elephant trekking, temple viewing, beach exploring, snorkeling, boat trips etc. Koh PhaNgan is famed for its “Full Moon & Half Moon” parties which are hosted on the other side of the island. Where is ko Phangan Island?: Ko PhaNgan is one of three tropical islands located in the gulf of Thailand. It is assessable by boats that leave Ko Samui Island several times a day or from the mainland embarking from Suratthani city and DonSak pier. Both Ko Samui and Suratthani have airports and connecting flights to/from Bangkok and Phuket. Thong Nai Pan Beaches have two crescent bays lined with simple beach bungalows and 5 Star resorts. The bigger of the two bays is called Thong Nai Pan-Yai (“Yai” means big) and the house is tucked in the hill at the end of Yai beach. This area is considered a remote part of the island which requires limited transport over the mountains. There is a concrete road from the pier to the house, which has made transport faster and more comfortable. Along with the convenience, comes more travelers using the road. Expect increased street traffic near the house.

We had a great time staying here. The staff at long tail resort where the house is located at the edge of we’re great and long tail resort was a great place for families to stay.
Brenda and Brian’s house was fantastic. It had a lovely vibe to it and I loved the high ceiling. The location is placed higher up the hill so you do have to walk for a few minutes to get the beach. I was happy to be staying There which is lovely but also benefiting from longtail resort.
Wished I’d stayed there 2 weeks rather than 1!

Maison typique avec vue imprenable sur la baie
La terrasse est très agréable avec vue pleine nature et vue mer, idéale pour les petits déj et repas du soir. Toutes les fenêtres baies sont équipées de moustiquaires. De nombreux hamacs propices au farniente à l'extérieur comme à l'intérieur. On peut profiter des services du Longtail Beach Resort à quelques mètres : piscine, restau, laverie.... L'intérieur est quelque peu défraichi (rideaux, coussins...) mais tout y est comme le matériel de cuisine (nous avons apprécié notamment le mixer pour se faire d'excellents jus de fruits).

You can use the resort pool, which is very nice and the stuff is very friendly. The resort restaurant is excellent. The resort stuff is very helpful. We needed them twice and they helped immediately.
Our two small children liked to play on the big balcony and we enjoyed the surroundings of the forest.

Traumhaftes Haus mit toller Anbindung an wunderschönes Longtail-Beach-Resort
Das Haus ist wunderschön, gepflegt und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und entspricht dem Eindruck auf den Fotos. Wer zuverlässig ständig WiFi braucht wird Abstriche machen müssen. Durch die Anbindung an das Longtail-Beach-Resort ist jeglicher Komfort gegeben. Dort kann man sehr gut essen und die Mitarbeiter sind wirklich sehr herzlich. Dies ist ein dickes Sonderlob wert. Gegen Ende war sogar der Swimmingpool des Resorts fertig, so dass dieser Komfort nun auch gegeben ist. Es gibt noch einige weitere Restaurants am Strand in unterschiedlicher Qualität. LongtailBeach gehörte unserer Meinung nach zu den Besten. Teilweise war es hilfreich für den Abend einen Tisch zu reservieren, da es entsprechend gut besucht war. Wir haben uns als vierköpfige Familie extrem wohl gefühlt und wollten gar nicht mehr weg nach 14 Tagen. Der Strand ist 2min zu Fuß den Berg runter und ist mit der schönste, den wir auf Koh Pan Ghan gesehen haben. Wir würden das Haus absolut weiter empfehlen. Es gibt verschiedene Tourangebote per Boot oder Offroader aber natürlich ist die Insel etwas begrenzt in den Möglichkeiten. Für 14 Tage war es vollkommen ausreichend, wenn man nicht ständig besondere Aktivitäten sucht.

Eine authentische Destination für Koh Phangan !!
Es war unsere siebte Thailandreise, die dritte nach Koh Phangan. Nach unendlicher Suche auf einschlägigen Suchmaschinen im Web, fand ich dieses Angebot und suchte eigentlich nur nach dem "Haken" - ich fand ihn nicht - bis heute! Die Lage, der Preis, die Ausstattung - unschlagbar! Bei 2 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern wird das Angebot an "bezahlbaren" Unterkünften schnell sehr schmal auf Phangan. Das Haus liegt erhaben über der Thong Nai Pan Bucht mit Blick zum Meer. Die Ausstattung ist mehr als zweckmäßig, es fehlt an nichts. Das Bad ist "westlicher Standard". Die Küche haben wir nie benutzt, da das Essen im Longtail Resort sehr gut und preiswert ist, auch andere Restaurants haben viel zu bieten. Die Vermieter waren sehr hilfsbereit und hatten p. eMail alle wichtigen Info´s wie Reisetipps oder Fährzeiten parat. Die Belegschaft vom Longtail Resort erwies sich als zuverlässig und sehr hilfsbereit. Dieses Objekt kann ich uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen, der Preis ist wie schon erwähnt unschlagbar!

Pure Entspannung
ruhig gelegener Bungalow auf dem Grundstück des Longtailbeachresorts, hier bekommt man den Schlüssel und der Bungalow wird wie die anderen im Resort alle 3 Tage gereinigt.
Der Bungalow ist aus Holz und ist auf Entspannung ausgelegt, zu gibt es innen wie aussen Hängematten, wer kochen will findet eine komplette Küche und einen großen Kühlschrank, wir haben immer im Longtailbeachresort gegessen.
Einmal hatten wir Stromausfall, da ist man in einem Privathaus normalerweise aufgeschmissen, nicht aber hier, da der Bungalow am Notstromagregat des Resorts hängt.
Ende November, Anfang Dezember ist es in Thong Nai Pan Yai sehr ruhig, die meisten Restaurants und Resorts haben zu und der Strand wird durch die vielen Wellen sehr klein bzw ist komplett überspült, wer aber nur entspannen will, ist auch in dieser Zeit richtig hier.

We are a family with two kids and had a two-week stay at the Longtail Beach House in April/May 2012. The house was perfect for us! It is clean and lovely furnished, spacious, it has all you need for a nice stay. Cleaning staff very friendly, they also help you organize a trip by car or boat. Great view and just a minute walk to the beach. There a lot of nice restaurants and bars along the beach. We really recommend this house to everybody.

This house is everything it claims to be! A great getaway in a beautiful place. We were there in the "off season" of May. That meant the beach, which was a quick walk down the hill, was extremely quiet. All the restaurants were open and had excellent food, for very reasonable prices. You can get massages and other spa treatments right on the beach for only a few dollars! Everything was clean, and everyone was very friendly.
We were only there a few days, so we didn't do many of the attractions. We did rent a kayak for an afternoon and paddled around the bay, made a sandcastle, picked up seashells.
The disadvantage of staying so far away from "modern civilization" was transportation. The taxi from the other side of the island was about $30 (USD). And we had to make a special arrangement for the return taxi, since we had a 1pm flight from Koh Samui and taxi's don't usually pick up early. But since we wanted something secluded, we expected travel to be a little costly/timely.
There is plenty of food available at the restaurants, but there is no grocery store anywhere. The closest thing was the local fruit stand and a 7-11. With the kitchen, we had planned on cooking our own meals, but that wasn't an option. So just plan on visiting the restaurant, or you can place your order and they will actually bring it to the house. They will do pretty much anything you ask them to, and do it with a genuine smile.
Overall, it was fantastic. If you want to get away, this is perfect. I don't know that its a great place for doing a lot of activities, so it depends on what you want.

The food at the restaurant is fabulous. You can just have a running tab... no need to bring cash with you and pay at the end. The beach is pristine and secluded. Often we were the only ones in the water but there are plenty of other resorts along the beachfront to allow for some variety for dining! There is a 7 Eleven only 10 minutes down the road with limited supplies so I would highly recommend doing a grocery stop at the Ko Phangan Dock area before catching the taxi over the island to get full supplies (meat, fruit, cereal etc) if you want to do some of your own cooking. Thong Nai Pan Village is very small with a few restaurants. I did do Hatha yoga at the local studio (it was only the instructor and me!). Thong Nai Pan Noi is a good half hour walk but has more going on. I would highly recommend going over for dinner. I went to Tannaporn Massage for a Thai massage and it was fantastic! We also booked a elephant trek and snorkeling package at one of the close resorts. The elephant trek was really just a quick circuit around a small compound on an elephant but it was good value for money (included a good lunch). The weather was not very cooperative which put a 'damper' on the snorkeling so try to go on a good day. I would definitely recommend booking a stay at the Longtail Beach Resort for a romatic getaway or family vacation. Brian and Brenda quickly responded to all our requests via email and made booking very easy and convenient.

Longtail Beach house is accurately represented in the photos and it's description. What they don't tell you is how wonderful the staff managing the house and nearby restaurant are in their friendliness and service.
I felt very comfortable as a woman traveling solo and when I was in a diving accident and ended up in the hospital (very good care) for a few days (ALWAYS BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE), Mr Oh the resort manager went above and beyond in helping me with my documents, phone, money, and his genuine concern was evident. Brenda and Brian were also genuinely concerned and offered their help in contacting family, etc. stateside.
The house itself is very comfortable and I took naps in all of the hammocks. There was nothing that I needed as Brenda and Brian have taken great care to think of everything.
Longtail Beach House is off the beaten path. You won't be disturbed by wild parties, but instead enjoy amazing stars, peaceful tranquility, and some of the best Thai food at the nearby resort restaurant at a very good value.
I consider myself to be a pretty thrifty traveler, but also like creature comforts. I spent a good amount of time searching for the perfect vacation rental and this really fit the bill.

last mond we (my wife,me and our 11 months daughter) spend 6 nights in this beautiful house. it was clean, comfortable and the vieuw was excellent. it actually was bigger then we expected from the pictures at this site. the restaurants on the beach were good. service from the keeper of this house from longtailbeach was good. clean towels and sheets when you ask for it. you have to know that you almost stay in the forrest, so be aware of any small animals (gekko's en mouse). we booked some more days en stayed for 13 nights on this beach. be aware that the house is on the hill, so you have to climb for 50 meters. not for weelchairs or old people. we will come back next year
