This property more than lives up to the photos/description. Its proximity to a beautiful beach, pool and hot tub, big lawn for yard games, etc. made this place a huge hit with our group of friends/family. The master suite was amazing (and HUGE). The staff were what truly made it 5 stars though. They were so accomodating and kind. The food in particular was so good - it far exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the BBQ, pig roast, pizza night, and had Dominican style meal for our special celebration night. Everything was perfect. Thank you!

I have been organizing guys poker club trips to the Carribean the weekend before the Super Bowl for 4 years running. Villa Del Mar stands tall as the best and here's why. First the beach and water are AMAZING and steps from the backyard. The property has plenty of shaded areas in the outdoor spaces. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with mostly all ensuite bathrooms. The private pool is huge with a swim up bar and this place actually has a heated jacuzzi tub, which can be hard to find. Rebecca gets back to you right away when you have questions or need guidance. She runs the operation like a true professional. The chefs and bartentender we hired for the trip were terrific too. 5 Stars across the board.

This property is absolutely beautiful and as pictured. The housekeeping staff are a dream come true. Contrary to other reviews, Jose and Omar are NOT amazing. We checked in on Easter weekend. While we recognize this is a very busy Holy week, we do not believe that should have ruined our check-in (especially considering we pay more for this week). Kitchen staff did not have drinks for us, as was promised, there was no welcome snack and dinner was served over an 2 hours late (that was 20 starving women!). We were told by the manager, Rebecca, who was wonderful, that they would make it up to us...this sadly never happened. Meals were often later than scheduled. We consistently had to request items by taking our own inventory (rather than them proactively asking), the driver was non-existent and did not make his services known, the bartender acted as if it was an inconvenience to make us drinks. He watched us pack our own coolers for the beach (chopping up ice that had frozen to our drinks in their fridge) and never asked if we wanted drinks. Additionally, although not expensive, ice is NOT included, and the staff has to buy it all the time, or in our experience we have to ask or go buy it ourselves. Ice is generally an amenity that is included in a hotel or rental. When presented with all of these issues, one man claiming to be the owner offered to refund us one night, which would have been the appropriate thing to do. However, it turns out he was not the owner and just an employee of the company and did not have authority to do so. Instead, the owner provided us 2 bottles of champagne! (lucky us!) We have stayed at properties that include in-house staff before. This was the best housekeeping staff and the worst food staff we have seen. You might wonder about our tips. We still tipped all the staff very generously, to the amount of what I am told is their wage for a month. I recommend this property if you want to make your own drinks and beg for service. Perhaps tip them in the beginning of the week so they know you mean business? The rooms are wonderful. The pool is lovely (minus that the floor becomes an ice rink when wet), the grass and beach are lovely also. However, please be advised there are only 8 lounge chairs which is not enough. It is also lovely to not have to cook, do dishes, go grocery shopping or do laundry for a week. Just don't have huge expectations for proactive service.....
