Typical french gite. More like you are on a shool camp :-) We had a pleasant stay.

Budget hotel which does not cater for vegetarian diets

This is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. Parking outside. Ski bus pick up outside property. 8 minutes walk uphill into town which has great restaurants.

No vegetarian meal options and no refund. I stated before I arrived about mine and my daughters vegetarian dietary requirements. Upon arrival we had two evening meals with them. The first we were served with potatoes (no vegetables) whilst other dinners were given stew. After 10 minutes I asked if we were getting any other food and 10 minutes later they offered us an omelette, which my daughter does not eat. The next night was the same with a cheese fondu when we got cheese and bread and no additional salad or extras whilst others were served with platers of meat. I then spoke to the hotel manger and said we couldn’t eat this lack of food/variety for the rest of the week. He offered no remedy or options other than he could make us an omelette each night. Since then the company have refused to offer us any refund us the 5 nights of meals we did not eat and the inconvenience of having to eat out every night.

A good base to stay for a skiing holiday. Good catering and made to feel very welcome

Booked a late catered skiing holiday in Chatel, and Chalet Gite offered very good value. They also accomodated a late change in our booking (the addition of an additional guest), and to our dietary requirements (one of our group did not eat potato). The hotel was a good base for skiing and had everything we needed - the evening entertainment was a bonus! Breakfast was a self service buffet which set us up well for the day. The evening meal was both tasty and hearty, with more than adequate portions - just what we wanted. We were the only British people staying, and were made to feel very welcome despite our limited French. Good value bar in the evening.

Would have liked a bath as well as a shower.

Great Hosts

The Hosts and staff were excellent. The food was very good and nothing was too much trouble. A very homely place, great entertainment, well worth a visit.
