EMBRACE Resort

My husband, niece, and nephew stayed at Embrace Resort May 29-Jun 5. It was amazing! The best part, by far, were the staff! We had a fun island tour from Dexi and Mary to orient us (and get us lunch). Gabby helped answer questions and get us to the clinic for a skin allergy. Dymond is an amazing chef and made us delicious food at the Flyin Pig (the tuna and grits is amazing), Sasha put together our swimming pigs private boat snorkel tour, Captain Dave took us on our tour, and Thomas helped make sure everything worked and looked neat and clean on the property. A huge thank you to everyone for a wonderful vacation! On top of that, we were celebrating high school and University graduations and there were balloons and congratulations in the villa when we arrived (and Dexi sang during the tour)!!! As far as the details... we had a villa and it was perfect for us! The rooms were very clean and cool and the kitchen was excellent for cooking dinners. The bathrooms had lovely rain showers. We ate breakfast or lunch each day at the Flyin Pig Cafe which was delicious! We enjoyed the beautiful pool, outdoor spaces, and had such a great trip. Our snorkeling tour was amazing to Pig Beach, Thunderball Grotto, and the Aquarium. I highly recommend Embrace for a delightful, friendly, and relaxing vacation!

Note that Staniel Cay is a tiny island so if you're looking for a relaxing beach vacation, this is your place! If you want more urban (restaurants, nightlife, etc.), probably not your place. We loved it!

The hotel was very close to the airport.

The AC in the room didn't work very well. It stayed pretty warm in the room, additionally the AC dripped lots of water into the room which the hotel apparently already knew about since there was a towel placed under the AC. However, this was very inconvenient for the person sleeping on the couch, as she was in a constant spray of water. Also there was no room service throughout our stay, not even fresh towels. The pool could use some cleaning. There was lots of dirt and some kind of oil film swimming in the water. The communication with the hotel was also very inconsistent, they wrote us several E-Mails asking for our flight information to pick us up from the airport. We answered every single one but in the end we were still not picked up. It is not far to walk but this could have been better organized. We booked the famous pig tour through the hotel. The organization was a bit chaotic, pickup was delayed by more than 45 minutes and the whole tour was rushed afterwards because we started delayed and apparently couldn't (or at least the captain didn't want to) prolong the tour in the end. Both the tour and the hotel were very overpriced and we wouldn't stay again. Also the credit card fee is ridiculously high which they don't communicate at all on booking.com. So bring enough cash.
