The host was very welcoming and helpful, even including me in social activities in the evening and organizing transport to the airport for my side trip. The accomodation was very comfortable with tea, coffee, biscuits and water provided in the room. The bathroom was was well located next to the room and I had sole use of it, which was a bonus.
The neighbourhood is easily accessible by train from central Dublin, so travel was easy and relatively fast, day or night.
Patrons at neighbourhood cafes and pubs were friendly and welcoming, making this home stay a welcome change from impersonal hotel chains.

It was near my parents. Due to family from Australia staying, their house was full.
Renovations were taking place. We were mainly out with family for the day so it didn't bother us too much. Having a lie-in was not possible with the drilling and hammering. Perhaps to inquire if the renovations are ongoing or finished. Beds were comfy, good space. At night, I found trying to find parking on the road tricky. Everyone was home by then.
