A very lovely and cozy hotel. The location is perfect, literally at the beach, perfect for surfers and very close to board rental places. Highly recommending the room ‘Ocean’, the view is amazing, and has a fridge, good shower, fridge, big balcony. The hotel staff are very nice people, the service was amazing. The food at the hotel was also very tasty.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the delightful Villa Surf Beach, and I must say, it was an overall fantastic experience. From the stunning view from the balcony to the well-appointed apartment room, this beachfront retreat offered a perfect blend of comfort and relaxation.
Let's start with the highlight of my stay—the view from the balcony. It was, without a doubt, the bestest part of the entire experience. Stepping onto the balcony, I was greeted by an awe-inspiring panorama of the beach and the sparkling ocean. The sight of the waves crashing against the shore was both invigorating and calming, creating the perfect backdrop for a peaceful escape.
Speaking of the apartment room, I was pleased to find that it had all the features one could ask for. The room was well-equipped and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. The inclusion of wine glasses and beer glasses added a touch of sophistication and convenience. It was a pleasure to relax in the cozy ambiance of the room after a long day exploring the beach and its surroundings.
The staff at Villa Surf Beach were friendly and attentive, ensuring that all our needs were met during our stay. The cleanliness of the apartment and the promptness of the service were commendable, contributing to a pleasant and hassle-free experience.
Furthermore, the beachfront location of Villa Surf Beach added an extra layer of charm to the stay. The convenience of stepping right onto the sandy shores and indulging in the calming embrace of the sea was truly invigorating. The sound of crashing waves and the refreshing sea breeze created a serene atmosphere that washed away the stresses of daily life.
In conclusion, Villa Surf Beach offers a beachfront paradise that will leave you mesmerized by its breathtaking views and comfortable accommodations. While the absence of water bottles was a minor drawback, the overall experience was highly enjoyable.
However, I must mention one aspect that fell short of expectations—the absence of water bottles. As a guest staying for two days, it was disappointing not to have complimentary water bottles provided. The tap water, unfortunately, did not taste very pleasant, and it would have been more convenient to have access to bottled water within the apartment. This minor inconvenience did slightly impact the overall experience.

The view and location was excellent, Kudos to the amazing customer service and food. It was right beside an amazing location to learn surfing.

The location was the only positive thing about this place in our experience.
This was by far the worst accommodation we've had during our 3-week stay in Sri Lanka (11 different places). Overpriced and extremely dirty. The first room we got had a really strange chemical smell, but we only realized this late in the evening, so we tried to deal with it (neither an open balcony nor AC was enough to fix this). We complained in the morning and were moved to another room. The smell was better (though somewhat moldy), but when we came back in the evening, we realized the room was full of cockroaches. It was our last night before flying back home and it would be hard to finish on a worse note.
Most of the staff didn't speak English well enough to be able to help us deal with the situation.
Would definitely not recommend it.

Villa Surf Beach is located between a beach and a street with traffic. We had a cozy room with balcony and an amazing view on the Dewata Beach and the sunset. The staff is very friendly and helpful; Nimal, Dines, Ishuru, Ashwak and the other crew members are doing a great job.
Delicious food and fruit juices to reasonable prices.
During quarantine everything was well organized.
We highly recommend to stay or at least visit the restaurant at Villa Surf Beach.
The rate for the room is quiet high, but for us it was OK to do quarantine at this place with its good vibe. The beach is nice, but unfortunately there‘s a lot of rubbish lying around.

Accommodation is unreasonable in price. There were cockroaches in one of the rooms and the apartment was generally not clean. Mattresses laid down, probably very old. To cover the sheet with holes and a dirty towel. And I fundamentally misjudge the communication with the manager. With this money, you will normally get decent accommodation in Sri Lanka elsewhere.

The location was perfect, just on the beach and the apartment was spacious. Balcony on the beach was a good add-on.
In one of the rooms, AC was not cooling and the fan was not working at full speed.
The stove had some leak, which had to be fixed.
The kitchen closed early and there is nothing around where we can get food.

Loved the room, the bed was extremely comfortable and large, and the aircon was good quality. The best thing about the accomodation is the gorgeous beach right on your doorstep, with a lovely quiet surf spot. Surfboards for rent very cheap next door, had an amazing time! Came back again at the end of my trip because it was my favourite place to stay :) will come again! thanks

The balkony and view are amazing. Can sit the whole day. Friendly staff doing their best. Location is great.
Lack of understanding about the cleanliness (sheets, towels, the place itself, kichen). At night is very dark in the room. Food is not the best at the restaurant. But the view you get, makes you want to come back.

Stylish and relaxing place. The staff is friendly and the view from the restaurant on the terrace in front of the beach is amazing.
Budget double rooms are a bit small, but comfortable for sleeping with AC. The rooms off the street are very quiet.

The room was way too expensive because:
No warm water.
Dirty floor, many sand left in and under the carpets. Stains on the bed linen.
It was realy loud, because the room directed to the main street. On the right side of the window there where the ac modules for all rooms humming the whole night. On the left side there where a speak that screams the morning prayer every day at 5 o'clock and wake me up.

The hotel is directly on the beach, which makes it perfect if you want to surf (perfect conditions for beginners at Dewata beach).
The food there is cheap and the staff is nice!

Location and view from the room balcony. Dinesh the caretaker and Vasana the cook are extremely courteous and nice people.
Some man came knocking at our door at 1 am in the night while we were sleeping, pretending to bring us water when we hadn’t ordered any. When we didn’t open the door and told him to go he tried to forcefully open it and banged on the door but fortunately for us the door was locked, hence he couldn’t.
This experience left us scared and sleepless. We immediately called Dinesh ( property caretaker ) on the phone who told us that there are 3 men in a room on the same floor as us who came in drunk around the same time and that it could be one of them.
We decided to leave the property first thing in the morning since we didn’t feel safe anymore. We had paid for one more day ( two days total ) and hence requested refund for the next night. The property owner was disagreeable and asked my husband to man-up and that he should’ve opened the door and faced the situation with the three drunk men outside. The property owner didn’t give us a refund and said he can spare around 10$ and refund that much. We had paid about 95$ in total and refused to accept only 10$ and left the property without taking any refund.
Also other small issues ( pictures attached ) :
1. Insect in wash basin
2. Unwashed unclean tea kettle
3. AC wasn’t working, we asked them to get it fixed after which they sent an electrician. AC started working after the fix but still takes about an hour to cool the room to comfortable temperature.

I highly recommend this place with nice beach
Located with easy reach from Galle, right near the Expressway exit point. The place was located right by the main road which was a privilege
. The place is surrounded by many Restaurants, and Supermarkets were nearby as well. The room was exceptional with a breathtaking view of the sea which we could enjoy with privacy throughout the stay. The interior of the room was attractive and cozy along with the comfort which the Air Conditioner provided. The bathroom was clean and all facilities were functioning well. The
staff was extremely friendly and always concerned about making sure that we are enjoying the best experience there. The beach was directly accessible from within the hotel with ease which was wonderful, and we enjoyed a perfect morning beach visit. The jungle beach and many other attractions are located nearby which is another privilege. I would definitely consider choosing this place again for an upcoming visit to the area.

Staff was amazing and extremely helpful. The manager was very accomdating and helped with any queries I had upon arrival. The owner showed great hospitality and the whole stay was excellent.

It was an absolute magnificent stay at Villa Surf Beach. Apart from the nice view of the room, there was amazing food (Tharanga is an amazing cook). It is a hotel at the beach directly - you hear the soft waves from the room.
The best thing however were the hosts - all of them extremely kind and open minded as well as really eager to help me with every issue I was facing.
If you are staying there during COVID and have to book a Level 1 Hotel - book this one! Everything worked out smoothly!
